They've located the woman. She's abroad. He just used her id or credit card or something. She was never there.

It's the person with an automatic rifle capable of shooting over 250 people who is the problem. The Conservative wrote:Let them, because the fact is that it's the person, not the gun that is the issue, but meh, what do I know. Doing away with the second amendment won't do squat, as proven with other countries, they will find a way.Zlaxer wrote:Problem is - I don't see a way to prevent this - sure we could do away with the second amendment, but this guy was motivated - he would have used something else. Now he's dead - so we cant have a public execution.....gun grabbers are going to be on the move...their salivating for sure.
We need to know more about this person before we do anything else if my sources are correct. He was soon to be a divorcee, and he also had a lawsuit against a casino since 2011.
He had his pilot licenses, and I've been having a hard time finding much else, but if this other person is a "companion" then knowing more about her would be ideal, especially since one of the last shootings we had in the US had a "female companion" as well...
This could be a lone shooter type concept, which I hope it is... but if not, we are going to have larger problems sooner than later.
This wasn't carried out with a hunting rifle.
If you are going to insist that these types of weapons are available to the general public then you have to accept that this will happen again.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

It is one hole you need to put into a semi-auto to make it a full-auto. It's not difficult, so to say the person with the gun that is the issue... it's the person, not the gun.Montegriffo wrote:It's the person with an automatic rifle capable of shooting over 250 people who is the problem. The Conservative wrote:Let them, because the fact is that it's the person, not the gun that is the issue, but meh, what do I know. Full-Auto weapons aren't available to the general public, when will you get that through your head? You need to either know someone who is willing to get you one illegally or have a collectors/seller's license. Full-Auto guns are highly regulated.
A gun cannot shoot itself, it needs human interaction to do so. So I will say again, the problem is the person, not the weapon.

There are about as many guns in this country as people. If guns could just leap up and start shooting people without a human being operating them we'd probably all be dead fairly quickly. As it is things like this are horrible but due to a few psycho humans who for whatever reason flip and start shooting. Millions of responsible gun owners don't.The Conservative wrote:It is one hole you need to put into a semi-auto to make it a full-auto. I'm wondering myself what psych meds this guy might have been on, it seems to be something common to a lot of these shootings.

My issue is people are too readily willing to blame the gun, and not the person... it's easier to attack an object that can't defend itself... sort of like a Democrat
