They're free to protest, the NFL is free to sideline em, Trump is free to reinforce his pro-America narrative but I just don't buy the anti-American assertion.

I bet that one of the reasons I don't watch the NFL or other sports is so that I don't have to sit through another tedious rendition of some song I was forced to salute to and recite throughout my years in public school. I support America, the principles it was founded on and the sacrifices of untold amounts of people to provide my generation with all of the luxuries we enjoy, but I couldn't really give a shit about the national anthem.

There are a lot of people at home who have a thought or two about the notion of a millionaire in America crying about their oppression at the hands of the racist system.

The NFL won't convey those thoughts.

No classroom in America will convey those thoughts.

Employers will fire you for conveying those thoughts.

That's the takeaway here. They can't handle opposing ideas. Their schools shielded them. Their employers shielded them. Their media shielded them. I think liberals have gotten away with such debased behavior for so long that they cannot process a president calling them out on it. Then they can't process why so many Americans are not buying the MSM fake news attacks on Trump for daring to call them out.

If you want to protest what Trump said, find a way to do it that doesn't offend a great deal of Americans, some of whom voted for, some of whom didn't and many who don't care one way or the other for him.
