I didn't really buy the reasoning he gave. Maybe it's the truth, but I think he didn't want some alt-right forum with his name on it.

I mean you go into the Dan Carlin forum as a new member probably expecting people like Dan and you get... Nuke Dog lol. He's an acquired taste.

Yea, I'm all about admitting our failures and atrocities and moving on. But these dummies focus exclusively on them.

I remember during a history class we were discussing all the fucked up shit we did in the Phillipines and everyone was wringing their hands about how evil we were and how the Filipinos would have lived in a paradise but not for the US.

Problem is they didn't realize Japan is right there and would have more than willing to forcefully bring them into the east asia co prosperity sphere and would have been far more brutal than any US occupation.

It's ok to admit when we fuck up, but don't disregard that some other nation is willing to step in and do fucked up things too.

I don't think so. He's naturally against rabble rousing and authoritarianism by nature.

I think it simply doesn't interest him.

Reminds me of what I said about the faux debate surrounding the Witcher 3 game. For those unfamiliar, a Polish game company made a game about Polish fantasy and culture tropes and some critics complained there wasn't enough diversity.

My response was that if Polish guys making a game about Poland bothers them so much because it was dominated Polish looking people, they could simply make a game about modern American culture that would be as diverse as they like. I imagine it would be about several people standing around bickering about race.

Yep, usually a forum of any program has active members that agree with the host. Not people that are against him and declare "I've not listened for a long while at the program..." And Dan surely wasn't any kind of Alt-right idiot.

Well, he thought that you don't have to set rules, moderate, all that freedom of speach thing.
