LA is democrat, but they're only in it for the free stuff, which really leaves the bay area, namely Marin, San Francisco, Santa Cruz and some neighboring counties responsible for the rot.

The problem with protests is that, practically speaking, they don't actually do anything. You are just a bunch of people complaining. Well, you could do that at home. You could be writing letters to your representative. You could be calling people. If the same number of people who would show up to a protest spent the same amount of time doing those things, they'd probably have more of an effect. Getting media attention for a cause isn't really a very effective way of causing change because the media is just looking for a sensational story, and once you've been "going on" for awhile, it's not as interesting and novel any more.





The point is people don't give a fuck about who lives or dies in Syria or anywhere else unless there is an impact in their immediate lives.

Us killing them, them killing each other, Putin killing everyone, who gives a fuck?

The rule of law is being watered down to a dangerous level in this country. Symbolically I think we must enforce strict borders. You can't have millions of illegal aliens in the country, decide to call them the more pleasing undocumented workers and not have an impact on the psychi of the entire nation. Shit does not compute.

I don't want them to die. I just dont think that writing my representatives, which is something I do from time to time, or say, voting, puts me in a category above other people that do the same. Also I'd wager that people at Lowe's vote more than those that don't shop there.

I'd like to think I care, but I'm not willing to give up my job, wife, or life for the cause. I'm not sure if you would either. Protesting is only a step up from voting imo, maybe not even a step up.
