I am not sure if people in the Yankee areas of the continent really understand what they are doing. There really is a vague sense of nationhood in the south, something that doesn't exist anywhere else I have ever seen except for reservations and a bit in the predominantly hispanic regions in the El Norte region along our border.

By trying to exterminate southern culture, you are awakening that sense of belonging to a people in a lot of us. I mean.. fuck.. I had that shit driven out of me by being forced to go to government schools where my accent was taken from me, and I was indoctrinated in the pro-republic narrative. I then had this civic nationalism creed jammed into my skull by the military. Then I damned near lost all of my connection to the south by going to college in Chicago of all places. But I can definitely feel it now. The more I see this shit, the more obvious it becomes.

Even where I live now, there exists a pretty solid population of colonizers in the nearby city of Asheville. Lots of them are my friends. But they keep talking shit about how this or that has to go, and these people over here are just scumbags when those are the actual southerners who have accommodated them.

Then I see straight-up non-neutered southerners around me getting pretty fired up. The rebel flag is EVERYWHERE now. Those poor progressives are totally surrounded in Asheville. If they drive just five miles out, they are greeted by the actual southerners and the rebel flag. That fucking flag is everywhere. On vehicles. On lawns. Fucking flying high.

Yeah, there's actually a similar dynamic in Canada, in the 1960's the Liberals essentially wiped the slate clean, they just wiped Canadian history out of existence, and they replaced it with the Liberal Party of Canada, Liberal Party of Canada flag, Liberal Party of Canada anthem, Liberal Party of Canada logo simply became the Canada logo, they took control of the school curriculums and just replaced the central narrative of Canadian history with social history as filtered through the Liberal Party of Canada.

None of this applied to Quebec mind you, they never gave up their history to the Liberal Party of Canada, so ironically, it was actually they, who inspired me to become a Hanoverian once again.

Well the victors wrote the history, and they had to justify the devastation somehow, as you know, what started out as a police action escalated to a total war which they had never counted on, but "fighting so wealthy industrialists and bankers could control the expansion West", wouldn't have resonated like "we fought to free the slaves!", anymore than it would have for any of the other Yankee imperialist wars, which is why they've invoked "free the slaves!" as their rubric ever since, from Cuba and the Phillipines, to Vietnam and Iraq.

Session is making a good political move.

Sessions also said that the violence in Charlottesville met the definition of domestic terrorism, a phrase that both Democratic and Republican lawmakers have been urging the president to use to describe the melees on Saturday.

It does meet the definition of domestic terrorism in our statute," Sessions said. "We are pursuing it [at] the Department of Justice in every way that we can make a case. You can be sure we will charge and advance the investigation toward the most serious charges that can be brought because this is an unequivocally unacceptable and evil attack."

Like the way Sessions has played his cards in the Trump administration. Quite good maneuvering.
