Egan writes that Bannon, like Cromwell, is a “brilliant and cunning” strategist who is “busy trying to destroy the existing order.” But Egan ominously warns Bannon to remember the fate of his “historical doppelgänger.” Cromwell was eventually executed for treason by the mercurial king he served.
From Egan’s New York Times column:
Bannon is a voracious reader — of philosophy, theory and the hinge moments in history. Cromwell, who altered the course of the Western world in ways still being felt today

Bannon sees his role as that of a modern Thomas Cromwell amongst the Tudors

I heard he also described himself as a Leninist as in he wants to destroy the social or political order or something, I've also heard he's a great reader and some of the books he reads involve far right thinkers. Who, I have no clue.

https://www.michigandaily.com/section/c ... ime-reportUniversity of Michigan student Halley Bass pled guilty to one count of falsely reporting a misdemeanor Monday afternoon in the 15th District Court.
Bass told police on Nov. 15 — following two other widely covered alleged hate crimes ― a man had scratched her face with a safety pin while walking down Liberty Street. Bass confessed in court, however, she fabricated the report.
Bass said she made the report to cover up a self-inflicted scratch made to her face in the midst of a period of depression. Bass said she felt embarrassed about the mark and told a friend that a stranger had assaulted her on the street and was then encouraged to file a police report.
http://www.nydailynews.com/news/nationa ... -1.2992019Bass told officers at the time her attack was part of a series of hate crimes unfolding after Trump’s election a week prior. She said she was targeted for wearing a safety-pin — a make-shift accessory worn by many to show solidarity with minorities after Brexit, and then later after Trump’s presidential victory, MLive reported.

Bannon is the most important person in that cabinet right now. He's the guy we can thank for rescuing the Trump campaign as well. Dude was on a mission in this life.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
I just heard about this bill:
http://www.mercurynews.com/2017/03/11/e ... osed-bill/By Lena H. Sun, (c) 2017, The Washington Post
Employers could impose hefty penalties on employees who decline to participate in genetic testing as part of workplace wellness programs if a bill approved by a House committee this week becomes law.
Employers, in general, don’t have that power under existing federal laws that protect genetic privacy and nondiscrimination. But a bill passed Wednesday by a House committee would allow employers to get around that if the information is collected as part of workplace wellness programs.
Workplace wellness programs — which offer workers a variety of carrots and sticks to monitor and improve their health, such as lowering cholesterol — have become increasingly popular among companies. Some offer discounts on health insurance to employees who complete health-risk assessments. Others might charge people more for smoking.
Under the Affordable Care Act, employers are allowed to discount health insurance premiums by up to 30 percent — and in some cases 50 percent — for employees who voluntarily participate in a wellness program.

And yet it was made illegal for people to get their own genetic testing results (23andMe was forced to stop by the FDA). Unbelievable.Penner wrote:I just heard about this bill:

23andMe used to provide genetic testing as part of their testing service. You'd get a whole host of info on your risk of certain diseases, and three more serious genetic markers were 'locked' so that you'd have to deliberately opt in to see them (the BRACA gene and the Alzheimer's gene being two of them). The FDA stopped them from giving this info to consumers. Now the only medical genetic info 23andMe can offer is to tell you if you're a carrier of a gene that can be passed down to children, which are obviously only worthwhile for some people: those who are considering reproducing. We're not allowed to have our own medical genetic information without very expensive testing that can only be done by a doctor, a comprehensive list of which was done for under $200 by 23andMe.
