Nah.
This isn’t as bad as it looks.
You are saying this to the wrong people. We are reactionaries. Think back to the beginning of DC and the change in people's perception of the world.

I literally used to us DCF to talk me down off the Zero Ledge but now-a-days its scarier in here.

Not because any of use changed our principles, but because we are being shown a world that has clearly changed theirs.

The loss of the Greatest Generation can not be understated.

Just consider how much harder it is to argue a libertarian perspective in today’s world. You are immediately a racist if you say the founding fathers are heros or were enlightened.

The greatest generation was the First Team in Vietnam.

The Air Cav in the Ia Drang, were the greatest of them all.

Hal Moore & Co was the zenith.

Pokemon cards represent the absolute peak of generational art and morality. My generation played with them as kids. The cards forced you to be responsible, and to keep their edges clean and protected, using a plastic cover if necessary. They taught you not to give up, and to attempt to collect as many of the Pokemon as you could, even if you bought another pack with duplicates. They taught you about uncertainty, because the packs were covered in silver plastic, and you couldn't see what was inside. Kids today have no idea the amount of responsibility and self awareness it takes to start a Pokemon brood, nor would they have the courage to stick around when times are tough. It really saddens me that our culture has fallen so far from this ideal standard of behavior. Digimon was largely responsible though.

Oh god, forgot about that shit. I never played with those cards or got into anime, but a lot of my friends did. I have always hated Japanese style animation, even from a young age. In Japan there are nerds there who are really big into American culture and animation. I shit you not.

I did. I played both, and I can honestly say that Magic is infinitely better.

C'mon man. Pokemon sucks, and I'm willing to take some of the collective blame for being born in the gen that played it, but Fagic the (cum)Gathering is pretty damn gay too. Not trying to insult anyone, but everyone I know who plays that shit now can charitably be described as looking like a proud member of the sex offender registry. Its not as revolting as Pokemon, but that is really its only argument to make.
