Donald Trump is considering dismissing the special counsel assigned to the Russia investigation, a confidant said on Monday.

Newsmax CEO Chris Ruddy told PBS Newshour that Trump is “considering perhaps terminating” Robert Mueller, the former FBI director who was appointed to run the investigation into Russian influence on the campaign by Deputy Attorney General Rod Rosenstein on May 17.

If not, IMO, Trump should ask for Mueller to recuse himself, if not fire him.

Now it seems to be about whether Rosenstein should take a knee with Sessions, but I still don't think Trump can straight up fire Mueller. Maybe the Assistant Assistant Whoever The Fug that takes up after Rod'll do it though.

I think getting rid of Mueller would be a mistake though. If I've said it once, I've said it a hundred times: if Trump n' CO are totally clean, best thing to do is let his enemies discover it and be forced to present it against their self interest. If Trump n' CO are compromised, I want to know.

Not really. Reshuffling the deck over and over again is just going to undermine the integrity of any conclusions drawn. Nobody is going to be perfectly non-partisan and perfectly unbiased. I guess it doesn't much matter though, since it would appear at least a portion of the public isn't going to trust Mueller's conclusions unless Trump and his team are totally exonerated. (And to be totally fair, I am sure there are plenty of libs who will never accept a total exoneration either.)

Mueller will be fired. Nixon had to fire four people before he could get his special prosecutor fired for him. Nixon resigned. Trump will not. Even if shitlibs get their sought after impeachment it won't mean a thing. Just warning them to not get their hopes up.

Don't get me wrong, I'm a Nixon fan myself.

In high school I has a US history teacher that was bonkers for Nixon... a whole wall of the classroom was a Nixon shrine. Having liberal parents and grand parents, I loved coming at them with loads of pro Nixon stuff I was learning, made me feel edgy as fuck.

But the Nixon presidency hasn't exactly been an administrative model for some obvious reasons.

Well from what I've heard obvious parallels can be drawn to the Nixon admin already. I've heard that the MSM and liberals in general hated him just as much as they hate Trump now.
