There is clearly a witch hunt by the media against Flynn, it's not hard to spot that it's fake news when they go after him on shit like this. Nor is hard to spot fake news when they quote unnamed sources to say that Russia hacked your election. It's not our fault the mainstream media has no integrity and people are still falling for their nonsense, we're just pointing it out. The mainstream media puts out more fake news than the fake news sites they bitch about, the irony isn't lost on me, they merely call the alternative news "fake news" because they are worried about the competition. If they were legitimately worried about fake news they would look in the goddamn mirror.

To be fair the breakdown in institutional trust has been a longtime coming. How far back you want to take it is up to you.

Most informed Americans are aware the media assisted the government in promoting false narratives in multiple major historical events. Most recently with the Iraq WMDs but before then there was the Kuwaiti babies being tossed from incubators, the Gulf of Tonkin etc...

We are witnessing the internet destroy pro-USA Govt false narratives leaving the populous in some sort of cognitive dissonance rage.

The "Fake News" narrative promoted by MSM is simply an attempt to maintain relevance. It won't work. The people who make up the majority of the viewership of MSM voted for Trump. This continued ballyhooing will only further drive a wedge between the media and US citizens.

If I was in the CIA I'd be scared. Not only because a Normie is about to have access to its trove of secrets but because Trump's stated policies all but guarantees a big slash to their budget. If DJT follows through with withdrawing from foreign entanglements then the CIA ain't gonna have shit to do.

Trump should take all their monies and give the to the DHS to build a wall to keep out the heroine the CIA is smugging in.

In the old place, I was laughing at Rs who were "boycotting" Starbucks by spending money at Starbucks. I thought it was hilarious... just a giggle moment. But, Clubby insisted that the story was fake because it came from CNN, the head of the FAKE NEWS movement. He spent pages showing me fake news stories. The Starbucks story was true, but that wasn't his point... his point was we can't discuss it because it came from FAKE NEWS.

So, now, you can avoid all discussion by just crying FAKE NEWS.

Look at the gal from Politico that got the ax yesterday. Seems Politico did the right thing if they want themselves to be seen as fair arbitrators of the news but the Left is up in arms!!!

My fear is that "institutional trust" is built or destroyed over decades. I mean, how do you ever trust your mom after you discover your real father is the postman?? The frightening part is that when institutions fail, individuals step in as a replacement.
