Maintain the Mike Pence Protocol at all times. While the MPP is in force, no alone time with any woman but your wife or girlfriend.

Yeah, of course, but those of us who work down in the trenches, we got the memo on that years ago, it's only these elites in their bubble, who would ever think that they were able to get away with this shit, or who would ever risk even putting themselves in any situation where they could be jammed up.Speaker to Animals wrote:Maintain the Mike Pence Protocol at all times. Did the military ever put you in a situation where you were forced to be alone with a woman (guard detail or whatever)? Could you opt out of that detail if that was the case?Smitty-48 wrote:Yeah, of course, but those of us who work down in the trenches, we got the memo on that years ago, it's only these elites in their bubble, who would ever think that they were able to get away with this shit, or who would ever risk even putting themselves in any situation where they could be jammed up.Speaker to Animals wrote:Maintain the Mike Pence Protocol at all times. I know in my situation, for them to force me to be alone with a chick on the flightline would mean that she was an actual worker and wouldn't likely do some shit like that. Otherwise she'd be in the AMU kissing ass and watching television instead of working. I suspect the women who actually did their jobs absolutely hated those chicks that milked it.

I was in a leadership position from a young age, I was a section commander when I was 19, so I had a lot of control over my immediate environment, but we, as the leadership team, we did everything we could to avoid those situations, not just for us, but for the troops, for example, we wouldn't take one female in a group of males, there had to be two females in any group, and then the females were always put with the females, as an all female team. We had female fireteams, so they bunked together, they pulled details together, they did everything together, they were tasked with watching each others backs, better for them, better for the males too.heydaralon wrote:Did the military ever put you in a situation where you were forced to be alone with a woman (guard detail or whatever)? Re: And another one bites the dust...
Thing is tho, nothing ever happened in the field, not on my watch, but once they were off duty, once they were off base, they were no longer under my control, I had no control over what they did then, and that's where all the trouble went down, me, I was at my girlfriends house hanging out with her family, so I wouldn't hear about the shit that went down, until Monday morning.
A section commander doesn't hang out with his own troops, section commanders hang out with other section commanders, so we weren't around looking over their shoulders, when they were on their own time and space. They would go down to the bars, they would go out to the clubs, they would get all liquored up, and that's where the lines start to blur, as an NCO, I wouldn't blur those lines, because that would just undermine my authority.
To the troops, I was all business, to any female that tried to come on to me, and there were some, it was made abundantly clear to her, that she was barking up the wrong tree, and if she kept it up, she would be in front of the Sergeant-Major answering for insubordination. There were times where we had drunken females throwing themselves at us in cringe worthy manners, but it was just; stop, turn around, go back whence you came, before you get yourself in trouble.
I definitely pursued relationships with women, but only civilians, when I was looking for a date, I didn't want the army involved in that in any way, that was my escape from work, I didn't want to take my work home with me. Like I say, it's kind of like jail, you're institutionalized, so on your own time, you need to get separation from it.

Just to be clear tho, I don't extend the benefit of the doubt to all these guys, like Matt Lauer and the creepy lock the door behind them from his desk thing, there's only one reason you have a lock like that, and it's not to lock people out, and Charlie Rose, I never fuckin' liked the guy, 'cause he's a liberal douche, but holy hell, what a fuckin' creep.
Never would have gotten away with that shit, in the army I served in, nobody would have looked the other way on blatant and brazen shit like that, that is pretty shocking to me actually.
You say you have no royalty in America, but these celebs are pretty de facto absolute, they have their own little fiefdoms, where they can apparently get away with anything, like the Bourbon Kings.

I know what you're saying, but I wouldn't rely on that, I've seen the chicks close ranks too many times, the scammer will run to the other chicks with a sob story, making it sound like the worst thing in the world, pulling on their heart strings and appealing to chick solidarity, and it works.Speaker to Animals wrote:I know in my situation, for them to force me to be alone with a chick on the flightline would mean that she was an actual worker and wouldn't likely do some shit like that. I mean, what do you thinks going on right now? I don't see the Me Too movement coming out and saying "whoa, innocent until proven guilty, let's make sure we've got the facts before we burn someone at the stake"
Quite the opposite, they're saying "hey, if some innocent people get thrown under the bus, so be it".
