So what are you saying, if you don't salute your flag every five minutes you somehow don't care about your country?
Insecure and needy.
I'm saying if saluting the flag at the meeting of a political party that seeks to control the nation equals "Every five minutes" in your mind, then it's fairly clear where the issue lay, and it's not with the flag.
If it were only at meetings of political parties you might have a point but it's every time you have a crowd of people for whatever reason. Save it for important public occasions and stop devaluing it through over doing it.
You look like an insecure nation at risk of falling apart unless you salute a peice of cloth and get God to bless you at every possible opportunity.
OMG - they sang the National Anthem at a football game on Sunday . . . and in a small meeting of a couple dozen Democrats on Wednesday they said the Pledge of Allegiance.
WHAT'S WITH THIS JINGOISTIC NEEDINESS EVERY FIVE MINUTES!?!?!??!
(For football players and a couple dozen Democrats in a nation of over 300 million)
Right on.
That doesn't sound kooky at alllllllllll. . . .
It's pretty clear that you simply take umbrage at any expression of national identity whatsoever. It bugs you. People identifying with a time, place, and culture, just pisses you off. That's fine. But don't act like we're the weird ones in this equation, van juggler.
