I love my country as much as the next man, I just don't feel the need to publicly demonstrate it every five minutes.Seems a little too needy to me.

Demonstrating it at all seems "too needy" for you, don't lie. You're butt hurt because a civic meeting by a political party hoping to rule this nation included the Pledge of Allegiance to the flag. Like that's somehow inappropriate and jingoistic.

Smart move? Perhaps in pumping the base is, but how are "the pollutants" trapped? Looks like more that the floculation agent causes an increase in the size and scope of 'pollutants'.

It's actually from the Republican old playbook for a President to focus sometime on issues like respecting the flag or how big offence burning a flag is. Comes up occasionally with huge media attention. Just like, uh, Freedom Fries. Yet then it is something that nearly everybody sees as offensive, like trampling the flag, burning it Iran style.

You have no idea what this does to the average American. You have no idea. Take a look at Hash's wife, she is no Trump lover but she knows in her gut this shit aint right. Even GCF knows this is a bad road to go down. It is part of the playbook because it works. Look at the polling on this, Trump is on the right side of this and democrats are just throwing themselves off a cliff.

I agree, but think about it from a governmental perspective. Remind the taxpayers who they work for at every opportunity. There’s a reason we are required to stand at every public event and sing a song together.

I was thinking about it yesterday, actually. It’s a terrible piece of poetry that doesn’t fit the melody at all. We should sing America the Beautiful instead.
