Russia's objectives on the Ukraine issue:

1) A de facto acceptance of the annexation of Crimea. Like uh, well the Baltic States, to give an example. The US actually never didn't officially accept the annexation of the Baltic States by Stalin in the first place. So basically the US (and the West) can give in here By simply forgetting totally the whole annexation. A formal acceptance might be too big thing to ask, and definitely isn't happening now.

2) That Ukraine stays under it's influence. That Ukraine has a Yanukovich-type leading Ukraine. Influencing Ukraine is the way here, because in invading especially Western Ukraine and you are definitely bogged down in an insurgency. Far better to have Ukrainian politicians think that the West has deserted them and the only way for them is to submit to the Kremlin.
Doing so though would put the US in an awkward state wouldn't though? Accepting that Russia reclaimed what was never officially given away is a technicality that the rest of the world may not see the same way.

For what it would mean that in reality, President Obama put us in such a weak state do deal and put pressure on international situations that we no longer have the ability to be the world police if need be. Since the UN is nothing greater than a Toothless Tiger without the US, and in some cases Russia, we are almost back to a point where the UN is unable to do anything worth meriting.

In this turn of events though we would be looking at a three-pronged cold war between the US vs Russia and China. One "cold war" we can survive... on two fronts, with multiple active war fronts, I am not sure the US can actually survive as we are today.

OK, maybe you win the internet with that one.

I have no response.

They can't even hold a candle to Big Ag, and food-packaging companies.

Next on the list would probably be various portions of the medical industry, and tobacco. I'd rank political Islam somewhere just above African warlords.
IMO, it's foolish to equate Big Ag to Political Islam. As far as I know Big Ag is not tossing gays off roofs, burning people alive and stoning people, nor are they destroying our world heritage sites. Though if someone wanted to work hard enough they could make an argument.

Hey, I just read Trump Admin opened an investigation into fraud and medical theft by employees within the Veteran Administration. Apparantly the theft of Opioids and other medicine has skyrocketed in the last 10 years in the VA.

You wanna pass a law to tell people what kind of food they're allowed to produce? Or maybe go at it the other way and tell people what kind of food they're allowed to eat?

Here's the difference in your shitty argument. The guy getting thrown off the roof and the guy doing the throwing are not engaging in an exchange where both parties are participating voluntarily. That's why that's not the same as a person buying a whopper, and getting fat.

Do you have any idea what ingredients are in whopper meat? Do you have any information on how it was produced, preserved, or even prepared? What coating or herbicides were used on the vegetables? What the hell that "bread" is made of, or the cheese-like substance? No.

You have an advertisement telling you it's "flame-broiled", and that's it.

Same goes for absolutely everything in your fridge, unless you made it yourself.

There are laws and regulations for this, along wih a bunch of federal agencies, which are regularly neutered on the altar of "business interests". You aren't even allowed to video or TALK about how meat is made without going to prison.

There is no such thing as a "free market" without full disclosure to the consumer. You get sub-grade shit to eat, and you take it because you have no choice.
SJWs are a natural consequence of corporatism.

Well, I don't eat fast food, so it doesn't apply to me much, but if someone else wants to, that's their business.

Same with groceries. If I want to go to Albertson's and grab a chicken that looks like it was a gym rat before they killed it, I can. So keep your totalitarian food policing hands out of my buggy.

Whilst the far more dangerous tobacco and alcohol are legal there are very few good reasons for weed to be illegal.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.
