Indeed, this very ship, the SSV-175 Viktor Leonov, was in fact sailing this exact route from Cuba up the coast, back in 1988 when it joined the Red Banner Fleet, although, it was called the "Odograf" back then, all they did was change the name.

The Russians actually resumed these sorts of operations in earnest, years ago, during the Bush Administration, after the falling out over the Americans withdrawing from the ABM treaty, so this is nothing that has suddenly ramped up in the last week, same thing with the INF busting cruise missiles, those have been in development for years, again, in response to the Bushies withdrawing from ABM 72'

Yeah, For some fucking reason our establishment has been pushing for another cold war with Russia. I don't frickin get it. Hillary was down with cranking up the Cold War too. ...but again, they are trying to pawn off onto Trump, a level of escalation which was actually incited by their guy; Barack Obama, if the Russians are going to escalate to another level over Trump, they haven't done it yet, this is still status quo from Obama sticking his nose into Ukraine.

Well, it's typical that the Russians brake the treaties on arms control that they have agreed on, have done it in the past.

Yet it was typical before that the US responded on these issues at least. But that also was done in a low key fashion, actually, not to get people to understand that a lot of the treaties done are quite worthless in the first Place.

Now it's natural that the Trump's responses to Russias moves are under focus. Just how extremely tough they are on Russia, as Spicer puts it.
