Be a shame for the taxpayers to spend that much money on helicopters, just to have them gathering dust.

And just like in the movie, they would fly around looking for trouble.
They wanted to start shit, so they would fly around looking to get shot at.
Then they would pile on.

The big difference tho, in the movie they came with like ten helicopters.
IRL they came with hundreds of them.

This was early in the war tho.
Morale was still pretty high at this point.
Would have been a very different war if you showed up two years later.

The Recondo guy I knew was there in like 69' - 70'
That's why he wanted to get out of the rifle company.
Discipline was breaking down, everything was lax, and casualties were high as a result.
This is why he says being in an elite unit was the safest option.

That's true of rifle company in general.
Rifle company sucks.
Wherever the OC bumbles, you must follow, even if it's a minefield.
No control over your own destiny.
At least in Recce Platoon you can make your own fate, pick your own poison.

Americana now means sexual "rights", progressiveness, freedom to do what you want, diversity, atheism, and consumption. All these things are subversive to any real moral order or cultural cohesion. But yes you could argue it was always split between Yankeedom/Quaker bullshit and the Chauvinism of the South. Now the real subversion is the dissidents on the traditional/conservative side of things. To me though even some or even a lot of the so called Old Right / Paleo Cons weren't anything other than Classical Liberals and in my estimation the lion share of the Enlightenment was bullshit. So for me there are no real Conservatives/Traditionalists. Maybe an Orthodox Christian Priest with his family and flock or some homestead in Alaska or Montana living with his family in a compound somewhere.Speaker to Animals wrote: ↑Tue Apr 16, 2019 9:59 amThe left was actually never so powerful as they were from 2012 to 2016. You cannot only look at the percentage of legislative seats held, presidency, judges, etc., though even by those standards alone they were quite powerful. You have also to look at who controls industries, educational institutions, and even family households. The left's grip on American society still is very strong, though they are losing it.
