Amazon is halting construction after I (Sawant) spent three months singling them out as the cause of the homeless and lack of affordable housing in Seattle, then tailored a tax to target them? Bezos is clearly a bully who holds the construction jobs we’re entitled to hostage!

Was talking to a prosecuting attorney about the state of their courthouse and how there were budget problems and how they had rats and leaks in their building. We got onto the subject of deals, and how the current system runs on deals, and I put it to him, stop offering deals, what happens? "Well the whole system crashes, unless the tax payers pay for more prosecuting attorneys, more cops, more judges, more everything. Would need new courthouse, everything. The system only works right now because 95% of cases don't go to court." How often is the state made to "meet its burden"?

I told him he should stop offering deals, then he'll probably get a new courthouse.

Moral of the story?

Let it burn.

Not that you or I has too much impact on what happens in Seattle (I don't live in one of the districts) but part of me is like, well, it's a fucked up system, let it crash, hasten the end of it, and lets get on to what's next. And after the crash, in a hundred years or so, everyone will forget the crash and we'll do it all over again.
