A Democratic Republic was ancient Athens, white ball-black ball, a Representative Constitutional Republic, it wasn't.

Athens was a direct democracy. I didn't claim it was a representative democracy. Fucking read the post.

The Soviet Union was technically a republic. When we refer to ourselves as a democracy, we are referring to the fact that we are a democratic republic; i.e. the democratic component of democratic republic.. When people make this retarded "but we're a republic not a democracy" meme, they confuse democracy with popular democracy. Athens was a popular democracy. Rome was a democratic republic (or more accurately, a representative democracy). Both were democracies.

They also don't seem to understand what the word republic means.
A republic (Latin: res publica) is a form of government in which the country is considered a "public matter", not the private concern or property of the rulers. The primary positions of power within a republic are not inherited, but are attained through elections expressing the consent of the governed. Such leadership positions are therefore expected to fairly represent the citizen body. It is a form of government under which the head of state is not a monarch.
Indeed, it's theoretically possible for a republic to use direct democracy instead of representative democracy, especially now with the state of communications networks and transportation networks. One could argue the entire reason for a representative democracy has been made moot by technology, and it now only serves as a tool for corruption and oligarchies.
Descriptor before object. The US is a Republic.

You are describing what kind of Republic it is, but the US is a Republic.

All the folks who think an aristocracy can exist in a democracy are fooling themselves. Unless you climb into the Royal class before the collectivists get you, you'll never be rich.

So a bunch of Neo-Marxists can black ball you into centrally planned redistribution by majoritarian force? So much for Liberty Nation, I guess.

The entire meme is imminently retarded since it's theoretically possible for a government to be both a republic and a direct democracy.

The fact that the U.S. is a republic, where it's representatives are purchased by the aristocracy to vote for the Royalists, is the only reason the collectivists haven't owned the place yet.

The aristocracy purchased Civil Rights, but they couldn’t get Hillary elected?

I dunno man, lots of questions about all that.
