Yet there’s an irony with folks who mock “just build a wall” only to fire back with “just jail folks who hire illegals”.

How do you sell your solution though? Facts aren't going to convince the electorate, the wall on the other hand, that plays to their feels and makes it easier to do what you want to do. Stop shitting on the wall part of the plan, it's counter-productive to your goals.

Romney already pitched Self Deportation, that went poorly, The Wall on the other hand, worked like a charm. You are too focused on the fine details of the solution, and not focused enough on how to sell your solution. Trump on the other hand focused on selling himself as the toughest on immigration, and not on the fine details that can come after being elected and it worked so much better.

Reality - as long as companies can hire illegal aliens with impunity, they will continue to come here. A wall won't stop them. Most of them don't get here by jumping over and climbing under a wall. Let's spend billions to not solve a problem. Hey, it feelz good, amiright?

Without the wall to sell the plan, you wont get the other shit you want.

"Self Deportation" does not sell unless you package it with "The Wall" and emphasize the later instead of the former, ask Mitt Romney if you don't believe me. Mittens tried it your way, how'd that work out for him?

Last I checked, Congress and the WH belong to the party that wants to stop illegal immigration. The voters put them there to do that. They (Congress and pres) dont' need the electorates approval for any specific law they want to pass. What are you smoking?
