Nuke, do note that after Trump fired Comey (and messed even the fig-leaf explanation what his staff had prepared for him), Mueller got a far wider scope of investigation than just looking what active measures the Russians did during the elections.
I think if Trump would have just had the cool to shut up, keep Comey in Place, the likely outcome of the previous investigation (before Mueller) would have been that "Yep, the Russians indeed tried to influence the election. Period."
