WAiting to the last minute to buy a gun due to your biases is foolish. Few expect things to get to the point they need a gun until it is too late.
People who drive are more likely to get in car accidents, people with a pool are more likely to drown, etc. Let the talking points go.

You do, though. Every time guns come up, your gun-toting trailer park spud makes an appearance.
What % of the gun owning population is like that? What's your source?

What's the problem; that the NRA has that many members or that they have that much money?GrumpyCatFace wrote:

How many people in this country actually own guns?
200-300 million, for 50 million households, so about 5-6 guns each. Most estimates range between 39% and 50% of US households having at least one gun (that's about 43-55 million households). The estimates for the number of privately owned guns range from 190 million to 300 million. Removed those that skew the stats for their own purposes the best estimates are about 45% or 52 million of American households owning 260 million guns).
Now think about how many people only own 1 gun. What the hell's going on with the rest of them???

Ok, so a chunk of people own more than one gun. So what? My father had 4 and his Class A permit in Mass. He had the option to carry; never felt the need to use it. Some people may collect them, some people may need different guns for hunting.GrumpyCatFace wrote:

That statistic fails to point out how many people in the house are licensed, how many are taking the proper safety precautions, etc...
Yes, there's a fuckton of guns in the US. Yes, there's some ignorant morons who spout off and show off how strapped they are. The problem is the squeaky wheel is getting all the attention. There's still a majority of gun owners out there who are responsible about their firearm ownership (some may even be NRA members ).
Which you never answered my question; what's your beef with the NRA? The money or the people?

My beef is that it's an overpowered lobbying firm, spraying hysteria across the society for their own benefit.Kazmyr wrote:Ok, so a chunk of people own more than one gun. So what? Also, I own over 20 guns. I inherited most, but I own quite a few. Why do I have them all? Simple, they are family hand-downs. So what's your problem with the NRA? Or is it the fact that there are people who legally own guns that are willing to use them if the government does something stupid? Your precious government, the one that will fuck everyone six ways to Saturday, and twice on Sunday if given a chance.

But who isn't spreading hysteria these days for their benefit? It's how a lot of shit gets done, now.

That is about 70 per member. Yeah that is reasonable. If assholes like you did not exist the right would not need to be defended but you do so it does. Vigilance has a price and because we believe we must be responsible for our own safety and protect from the assault you condone. Government isn't going to it for us and because we dare to disagree you do not wish to protect us yet you wish to disarm us.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Equally stupid and disguting, imo.The Conservative wrote:Oh yeah, these seem like real Republicans to me... more like your Democrat Flock, sort of like oh I don't know the next step down from Antifa?GrumpyCatFace wrote:
