It's not about identity theft, the threat is that they will encrypt all the medical records if the ransoms are not paid. Patients could die if records are lost. Doctors have gone back to using paper records of x-rays, scans etc. Really sick move to attack the NHS. My Mum is waiting on a biopsy result at the moment and there are millions more like her who are being affected.
