No, Kessel is actually a liability, he gives up as many chances as he creates, he's not a Babcock type player, Babcock was the one who said get rid of him, but also, Babcock doesn't build his lines like that, he doesn't load up one line with all the firepower, he spreads it out and rolls three lines, just like Pittsburg does, Babcock wouldn't put Kessel on Matthew's line, anymore than you put Kessel on Crosby's line, Pittsburg has it about right, on a good team, Kessel is actually a (vastly overpaid) second line winger.

Don't get me wrong, I like Phill, he did what he was paid to do, at five million at least, at eight million not so much, but he's not a franchise player, and you can get a thirty goal winger for way cheaper than Kessel, he was totally expendable, much rather that Kessel money be put towards Marner, who is Franchise, and already better than Kessel right now.

Basically, on Kessel; we just wanted our money back, sayonara, Phill, God bless, but good riddance.

I get all of that but man he was solid in the playoffs last year. He thrives when he does not have to be the guy. 87 and 71 do that in Pittsburgh.
