Jeeeeez guys.
We seem to be working from different definitions of Statesman here.
I just meant that he brought dignity to the office, and by extension, the nation. And that won’t happen again anytime soon.

Yeah, I think we are working different definitions of Statesman.
I'm not sure how someone is a Great Statesman by merely bringing dignity to the office.(I would argue BHO did not)
Shouldn't someone earning the title Great Statesman be something more. Should they say have a strong moral compass, be able to build a consensus with allies and opponents, perhaps have negotiated higly sensitice international issues.

Never said “Great”. Just that he was the last one.

Real dignified. The death toll from the Obama administration’s notorious Fast and Furious covert program to track down weapons to Mexican drug cartels now stands at 200 after another 69 deaths were reported by a watchdog group based in the nation’s capital.

I don't think were going to agree here. So, let me ask you this.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Never said “Great”. Just that he was the last one.
If Trump undos Obama policies easily because they were implemented without Congressional ratification, won't even Obama supporters consider it a waste of time, and a failure for not being able to get Congressional consensus ?

Generally speaking he acted in a dignified manner. Its probably one of his best characteristics.

Weird how the statesmen all failed to end the Korean War.

Dignity does not make a president great, sadly.

I think Scott Adams made a good point. It would have been nice to have a president that could accomplish what Trump has done without offending minorities and women etc, but thats not the choice we were given.

Of course they won’t. They’ll still be Obama’s supporters. And hate trump even more.C-Mag wrote:I don't think were going to agree here. So, let me ask you this.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Never said “Great”. Just that he was the last one.

My turn. If the economy implodes (which it will soon), will trump supporters own the fact, or find 10,000 other things to blame it on?
