Of course it's bullshit. But so is your notion of "moderation". You could just scroll past or block the people you don't want to read. But you don't want to not read their posts, you want to make them stop posting. Its a passive aggressive power struggle and its totally transparent. If nobody talked about the hockey thread derailment, it'd have never been an issue to begin with.

Anyway, Kath is doing fine, she's pretty reasonable, even if I didn't agree with the idea of a special thread for the Olympics. But its enforcement goes against a decade of forum culture, but more importantly yall let everybody know how much it meant to you. Of course the jerks were gonna pile on you. And because you threw it all on the table you guys couldn't back down. Time to let it go.
