The point is that even someone who has "issues" like I do can find a job. It just takes time, effort, and hard work... nothing will ever be handed to you.

24 hours before I got this job, my electricity was being turned off for lack of payment, my water and gas was also being threatened to be turned off... I had no money in the bank account, and my phone was shut off as well... I was pretty much one step away from being homeless with a family. Social services refused to put us on an emergency list for whatever reason, and we couldn't halt things from being turned off because my son was over a year old. So if you want to know how bad things can go before turning around, I think I nearly get the gold on this forum...

On a side note:

If you want to go old school, I remember a time before there was even internet... and we had these things called rotary phones, where you could call the operator and she would patch you into the person you wanted. They would also interrupt your call if an important one was coming through :P
um......this thread is really not about if you can find work or not because if you want to work you can indeed find work. It's about compensation for workers, you know that amount you make per year vs how much the CEO makes and how that gap is widening by percentage each decade.

Key note. We're talking percentage and not cash because percentage will tell you the truth of the matter.

Have you ever heard of the Robber Barrons? We've been heading on a path to the Robber Barrons 2.0 since the 1970's.
Oh give me a break...

Income inequality happened because people are afraid to ask for what they are worth... I asked for $5000 more than they were asking and got it... You don't ask, you don't get...

Also, you are missing the point entirely about what Income inequality really is about, it's not about how much the 1% makes... it's to force people to ignore how weak the American Dollar really is.

1960, 12.49 cents would equal $100 today... a lot more is wrong than "Income inequality"...

That's kind of the point here. Only the top earnings have been adjusted for inflation this whole time - not the general wages. People are still making more dollars than before, but far less actual money.

That is exactly right GCF. The top earners have had their earning not only keep pace with real inflation but actually greatly out pacing it. For everyone else their income has not kept pace with real inflation. So in terms that The Conservative may understand, the average Joe has less and less purchasing power each and every year. Annual pay increases for the average Joe are not enough to make up the lost purchasing power....unless you are in the 1%, then your increases in earnings not only makes up for the lost purchasing power but actually gives you a ton more.

Prediction: The Conservative will now inform us that Trickle down economics will then benefit and save us plebs.

Yeah, funny how that worked out... We should definitely double-down on that.

What is your definition of the 1%, how much money per year makes you 1%?

You only want to go down that rabbit hole in hopes that you can bog down this conversation with semantics. Sorry but I'm not going there Bubba.

It's a legitimate question. You keep preaching "The 1%!, The 1%!", but have absolutely no idea who they actually are.

Here is a hint, the number is liquid...

22 Year old kid making 120K, is in the 1%...
50 Year old making 310K is in the 1%, but if he's making 100K, he's not...

I make 70K, that puts me in the "50%" because of my age...

So please, tell me... how come my grandfather could buy a house making 1/8th of what I do... but I can't buy a house with how much I make... it's not because I'm rich... it's because inflation has increased so much, and the dollar has depreciated...

Want to know what your mystical 1% would be making in 1950? 30,000...

The President of the US made $100K a year in 1950... today that is about $400K (Obama's salary)...

So please tell me, how being part of the 1% is rich? You are confused... you aren't going after the 1%, you are going after the .5% at worst/best case scenario....

Oh for fuck sake! :hand: Refer back to what GCF and I wrote earlier today. As for the top 1%, we're talking about ALL wage earners, not broken down by age brackets because that's pointless.

No it's not. You are going after the wrong reason... which is common. You've already jumped over the bushes... and didn't realize on the other side was a cliff.

I'd love to have someone dope slap some sense into you, because you need it in spades, clubs, and any other way allowed by the Geneva convention.

Yeah my statements are correct and I'm not going down your retarded rabbit hole of nonsense. I'm pretty sure that you're smarter than this TC. Stop trolling.
