Re: Current US Military
There are many issues with the US military.
One I would like to point out is that only one US General has been fired for battlefield failure since Korea. Of course McCarthur was famously fired by Truman, and in WWII General Officers were fired all the time............... not so for the last 50 years.
We treat Generals as untouchables, they have become the swamp. Look at any general officer and you won't be shocked to see that they have Ivy League credentials on their resume. The Ivy League is a rinse cycle for the Deep State.
Now, we have Petreus and McChrystal leading the battle on Gun Control. I'm suspect of any General Officer today that survived the Obama purges.
We need to bring real responsibility and integrity back to our Flag Officer Corps.

Wasn't McChrystal fired in Afghanistan after the whole Rolling Stone thing? They get reassigned or forced out all the time it just isn't made into a public spectacle because politicians don't have the balls for that and the public wouldn't tolerate it.C-Mag wrote:There are many issues with the US military.

Yes, General Officers are fired fairly regularily for misconduct........... but not for failure to lead or succeed on the battlefield.clubgop wrote:Wasn't McChrystal fired in Afghanistan after the whole Rolling Stone thing? If the tape never got out and it stayed between those three, not much harm done. This was a private thing until it wasn't. Now that the video is public forget it, they gotta go.Viktorthepirate wrote:I thought they were dumb but didn’t care.

Yeah come on they make up the misconduct, but come on mag who has got the political capital to fire these guys for those failures? Clinton? Fuck no. Bush? No. Obama? Absolutely not. Trump? Sorry, nope. John McCain? Maybe. But he aint gonna be CinC.C-Mag wrote:Yes, General Officers are fired fairly regularily for misconduct........... but not for failure to lead or succeed on the battlefield.clubgop wrote:Wasn't McChrystal fired in Afghanistan after the whole Rolling Stone thing? Well, if Trump can't, I haven't seen anyone else who would. There have been plenty of military fuckups where the senior officers have slipped away, only to recieve more accolades.clubgop wrote:Yeah come on they make up the misconduct, but come on mag who has got the political capital to fire these guys for those failures? It's a symptom of a bigger problem. All the NCO academies are teaching NCOs that they are to be subservient to the joes, and the joes are seeing how far they can push it.clubgop wrote:If the tape never got out and it stayed between those three, not much harm done. One expression has been in a wave of ludicrous reenlistment demands. That puppet show was not a surprise to a lot of people.
As far back as 2011, TRADOC rules made it so an NCO could lose his stripes for correcting a soldier.

They are infantilizing the military.
Our military has been under assault from political correctness and socialization. The military was in rough shape in the 70s, it took the entire decade of the 80s to rebuild the military.

I don't see any way it could be anything other than intentional.

Re: Current US Military
The Obama Officer purge was pretty obvious. But the sneaky shit he was doing was turining military academies into Liberal Arts colleges and fucking up TRADOC worse than it was.Okeefenokee wrote:I don't see any way it could be anything other than intentional.
