Is this considered a lot for a good burger over there? Pretty much average here. A really good burger would be more. Apart from fast food joints like mcdonalds and burgerking, this would be average. But people would still be able to afford them, and the workers would get a decent pay.

If the problem in your country is that your own people won't take low wage jobs, the solution is NOT to import poor people who are willing to take them. Either fix it through higher pay, less welfare for people who can, but won't work, or a mix of both.

The EU influx of immigrants have done a lot for the very rich, and made the spending habits of the middle class a lot more comfortable. But it's not sustainable, not for the environment, and not for the nation as a whole.

I'd sooner starve than pay that much for a burger. Good burgers are 7-$9 tops. Unless you go to a restaraunt. Maybe $11.

People are willing to pay a lot more for stuff once prices rise and they're considered luxuries. People pay $10 for a beer on a regular trashy pub here. I do too.

It's only natural to raise the wages when you can't find people willing to do the work.

Burgers aren't a luxury over here. You better believe there will be riots in the street over that.

Heavily expiring, lethargic, sweaty riots.

Turns out we need EU immigrants after all.
If only someone had said that during the Brexit debate.......oh wait, they did, over and over again.
The Brexit Secretary said it could take “years and years” for Britain to fill all the jobs that would otherwise have been done by EU immigrants coming to the UK to work.Speaking on a visit to Estonia, Mr Davis said: “In the hospitality sector, hotels and restaurants, in the social-care sector, working in agriculture, it will take time. It will be years and years before we get British citizens to do those jobs.

“Don’t expect just because we’re changing who makes the decision on the policy, the door will suddenly shut – it won’t.”
It seems pretty obvious to me that Brexit was not about stopping immigration entirely, but rather reserving the right to choose immigrants that are actually good for the UK.

Well there was an awful lot of campaigning based on stopping immigration. Polls suggested it was one of the main reasons people voted Brexit and UKIP and several Tory MPs are up in arms about the Brexit secretary's statement.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

Im sure it was a contributing factor alongside other things with all of your out of work blue collar country men. I doubt it was as racist, islamaphobic and fascist as some Bremainers decried.

Unemployment last year hit an 11 year low, at the time of the vote it was 4.9% compared to 4.8% in Germany, 10.5% in France, 12.4% in Italy and 23.1% in Spain. Anyone campaigning on grounds of unemployment was being dishonest.

Would you mind linking a couple campaign ads or polls? I wouldn't mind checking out what you're talking about.

I would say also that public opinion on immigration is fluid. If Britain was letting in smaller numbers, and making sure that they assimilated, I'm sure the public would be more assenting to immigration in general. I guess my point is that "stop immigration!" sounds nice to people when the immigration policies are retarded, but probably wouldn't have much support if there was sound leadership making decisions for the good of the country. Fresh blood being good for business, I doubt the conservatives will halt immigration altogether.
