TRENDING: Anti-Assad Arabs are changing their social media pics to pro-Trump pics. They are calling him Abu Ivanka al-Amreeki - Father of Ivanka the American.

Trump has totally caved to the "experts" and he will for the remainder of his tenure.C-Mag wrote:It's amazing, all these people thought Trump was crazy, until he attacks Syria, WTF.
Michael Savage who has been as big a Trump supporter as there is, torched Trump for this.
He went in with good intentions but I don't know anyone who could withstand the pounding he has taken in the media and govt (including republicans).
If the CIA has kompromat on Trump I fully expect them to use it to force his obedience before handing it over to the public.

Context? I'm guessing , if it's a very recent image it's Bolivia making comparisons between Powel's fake intel speech pre-Iraq 2.0 and Assad having chemical weapons?kybkh wrote:

Yes, that along with listing the multiple coups the US has instigated throughout the world and other clandestine activities.

What's odd is, Trump apparently said. Hey, we are striking here tomorrow and Assad got his planes out of there, Russia makes a strong rebuke, looks really contrived. Whether the work the Intel community and there never ending Anti-Russia stuff or something else, I don't know.
But it has served to somehow strangely, now make Trump Presidential............................. weird fucking world.

The one hope I hold is that this is simply a BTFO to the media hacks howling about Putin-Trump Bromance.
Putin is astute enough to recognize that. Given that we alerted the RU in advance to avoid casualties that shows quite a bit of cooperation between our armies so I don't for a second buy this to be a real escalation of any sort.
The worst outcome will be that it will embolden those trying to influence Trump's decision making.
Most frustrating to me is the media continues to show its nose. The lack of coverage of the civilian deaths in Yemen versus Syria says all you need to know about western media outlets. They are nothing but political mouthpieces and should NEVER be seen as anything else.
Anyone citing their work to support absurd claims will receive no quarter from me.

Come on. Trump launched 59 cruise missiles at him. There's not walking that back even if Trump stupidly fired them as "warning shots".

You don't think Putin is nuanced enough to recognize Trump's position? One horse back ride in the Urals and all will be fine. Also, Tillerson is still scheduled to make his trip to Moscow so that's a positive.

Re: Meanwhile in Iraq & Syria
You're losing sight of how escalations actually occur, escalations are generally not intentional and orderly affairs, escalation occurs, when there is a grey area, the path to escalation is through the paradigm of misapprension, miscalculation and or mistake, using the military as a prop for a political stunt, Post Cold War Monica Lewinski drill straight out of the 90's, if applied to a Cold War dynamic, is inherently dangerous, because its projecting the unserious and silly partisan nonsense dynamic of the Post Cold War paradigm into the nuclear armed confrontation of the Cold War.kybkh wrote:Putin is astute enough to recognize that. To wit, the United States didn't pull these sorts of frivolous stunts vis a vis the Soviets, in the Cold War, this is a product of the Post Cold War era when the Bill Clinton's of the world were no longer concerned about the Soviets and associated Balance of Terror and so felt like it was safe to goof around like this, but to start mixing the two dynamics, the unserious politcally motivated non war silliness of the 90's, with a Cold War confrontation to include the balance of terror, well, that's where you're mixing a witches brew pregnant with all sorts of vectors for unintended consequences and escalation.
