That's about 0.0001% of the US population per year. Meanwhile, about 610,000 people die from heart disease every year here. We can play the numbers game and wrestle with your nebulous "all right" standard all day long.Montegriffo wrote:93 deaths a day is ''all right''. Ok. Oh, I see. Fewer Islamic terrorism deaths in a decade in the UK than a couple of days worth of gun deaths is the fall of Western society but because cheeseburgers kill more people those gun deaths are acceptable?de officiis wrote:That's about 0.0001% of the US population per year. Tell me, how many have to die before it is a problem? Is 200,000 gun injuries per year OK too?
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

It's what the majority of Americans are willing to live with. Which is apparently where it's at.Montegriffo wrote:Oh, I see. I think this shooting might have red pilled more people than is immediately obvious. It looks like a majority of Americans believe this guy was motivated by mainstream democratic party politics. Everybody sees it. The MSM can't seem to keep this one covered up.

The people who believe this is 'caused' by media are the same people that blame Columbine on metal music and video games.

I saw his FB page, dude. He was repeating the same nonsense you hear on the MSM every day. He thought the government was taken over by fascists with the help of Vladimir Putin. He thought Trump was Hitler 2.0.
When the MSM and democratic party leaders are repeating conspiracy theories and hate 24/7, it's not a surprise that some of their followers really believe it. After all, if Trump really were Hitler 2.0 and the Russians orchestrated a silent coup of the American government, wouldn't that be an appropriate response? Shouldn't we be at Threatcon Wolverines right now?
And my point was that Rasmussen shows that most Americans believe he acted on political motives, and anybody can see that his social media history isn't any different than most other democrats right now. Clearly something about all this hateful and violent rhetoric is leading to political violence across the country. It's not just hundreds or thousands of bad apples attacking people nationwide. They are all motivated by the same political rhetoric and driven to violence by the same corporate media machine.

Do you really view the scuffles at protests as the same thing as this unhinged, broken lunatic?Speaker to Animals wrote:Hanarchy Montanarchy wrote:This fuckin' chooch was living in his van and bathing at the Y from what I read.Speaker to Animals wrote:I think this shooting might have red pilled more people than is immediately obvious. This sort of guilt by association thinking is neither accurate nor productive if you ask me.

Like everything else, it depends on who you talk to. Americans to do a lot of things to themselves that are not particularly healthy, but we allow it to occur because we value individual liberty and freedom. The right to own and use a firearm is just one part of that, and entails risk. We could pass a law requiring everyone to wear a sling while they shower because bathtubs are slippery when wet and people die every year from bathroom accidents, but we don't because there is no consensus that the level of risk warrants that type of imposition on our personal freedom. For better or worse, life is full of risk. It is risky to get out of bed in the morning, and it is risky to stay in bed too long.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Somebody should ask them.de officiis wrote:It's what the majority of Americans are willing to live with.
