UKIP were really hoping for a win because Stoke voted 65% Brexit. Nuttall likely to stand down as leader now. Still only one UKIP MP who was a Tory defector that held his seat in the general election.

Labour and UKIP lose. :D

UKIP would naturally lose because their leader bugged out once Brexit vote won and left his party adrift. Quite easy to see that coming.

That Labour is still not making it is quite telling also.

UKIP lost because there is no longer any reason for them to exist. There is no desire for a far right party in the UK either, the BNP (British Nationalist Party) got 127 votes which was fewer than the Monster Raving Looney party.
Labour are in trouble, it was the first time since 1982 that an opposition party MP lost their seat in a by-election and only the third time since the war (1945).
Jeremy Corbyn has refused to take the blame but the knives are out for him even more than before. The seat lost has been Labour ever since it was created 80 years ago.

Turns out we need EU immigrants after all.
If only someone had said that during the Brexit debate.......oh wait, they did, over and over again.
The Brexit Secretary said it could take “years and years” for Britain to fill all the jobs that would otherwise have been done by EU immigrants coming to the UK to work.Speaking on a visit to Estonia, Mr Davis said: “In the hospitality sector, hotels and restaurants, in the social-care sector, working in agriculture, it will take time. It will be years and years before we get British citizens to do those jobs.

“Don’t expect just because we’re changing who makes the decision on the policy, the door will suddenly shut – it won’t.”

Raise the wages in those jobs. Problem solved.
