Nonsense, he was being pushed out long before the Russian boogeyman got going and Trump didn't like the way Manafort was handling the campaign and Conway was breathtakingly better, and she proved soon after taking the reigns. That's not revisionism, that's what happened, you just want to think that because there was a Russian connection too that this had to be the cause, but that is just your bias showing.ssu wrote:Followed the thing when it happened. Just remember, why the first campaign manager was dumped by Trump. Small incident that one.

Thats bull, Trump campaign up until that point didnt have a data and polling operation. Conway's specialty. I know you see Russians under your bed but that reasoning just doesnt add up. But keep it up Simo, as long as the looney left like Penner believe this shit it will serve us well. Yes the Russians are the reason why they lost. It was the Russians that ran a lazy campaign devoid of real issues. It was the Russians that rigged your primaries. It was the Russians that dismissed half the electorate as deplorables. It was the Russians that made Hillary collapse from pneumonia. It was the Russians that made the democrats ignore muslim extremist bloodshed and called anyone with a clear view of the threat a "racist." It was the Russians that ignored white blue collar voters in Ohio, Michigan, Wisconsin, and Pennsylvania. It was the Russians that made Hillary set up that private server. It was the Russians that set up the Clinton Foundation as a clearinghouse for decades of bribery and corruption. It was the Russians that caused Democrats to lose 1000 legislative seats all over the country. If you don't learn from history you'll be doomed to win in 2018. Go with that.Followed the thing when it happened. Remembered clearly how it went. It wasn't as Trump had major disagreements with Manafort and had to leave... or that Kellyanne was so breathtakingly better. That's revisionism.

This manafort thing is why I like the wikileaks model so much more than the traditional press model. They release their source documentation without editorialisation or story building. That AP article smells kinda funny of cherry picking and context bias. Look at the very first picture up the top of manafort looking "shady", speaking into ivanka's ear from the backstage. It's very clearly priming the narrative before a single word is read.
Even if true, all this tells us is that Manafort was advocating for russian interests in Trump's circle. Which is highly doubtful given the eventual fallout with Deripaska over accusations of fraud, which lends credence to the idea that Manafort is just a political mercenary out to make a buck and only really cares about number 1. It says nothing about any plans to unduly influence the elections, let alone evidence that such action took place.
Unfortunately, many people on the left won't see this as anything but more ammunition for their outrage crusade like sheep all too willing to jump off the cliff without looking first. I don't even think they know what they're outraged at specifically anymore.

Here your are the one inventing the storyline. Trump may have been frustrated at how the campaign was going, but that final straw was Manafort's dealings and possible scandal in Ukraine. Notice that it isn't the hacking thing, but still something related to the subject... the close ties that Manafort had to Pro-Russian entities.StCapps wrote:Nonsense, he was being pushed out long before the Russian boogeyman got going and Trump didn't like the way Manafort was handling the campaign and Conway was breathtakingly better, and she proved soon after taking the reigns. The Russia thing was nothing as big it was back then. But the allegations of Manafort getting money from Ukraine that were the final straw.
To recap what was then said when Manafort left the Trump team, FROM AUGUST 19th 2016:
BBC, 19th of August 2016:
See herePaul Manafort, campaign chairman for Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump, has resigned just two months after taking the helm.
He has come under fire for his ties to Russian interests and former Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych. But he has denied any wrongdoing and it is not yet clear why he left.
The NYTimes, just to give an example, goes more in detail on the same day back then:
See Paul Manafort Quits Donald Trump’s Campaign After a Tumultuous RunThen a wave of reports about Mr. Manafort’s own business dealings with Russia-aligned leaders in Ukraine, involving allegations of millions of dollars in cash payments and secret lobbying efforts in the United States, threw a spotlight on a glaring vulnerability for Mr. Trump: his admiration for President Vladimir V. Putin of Russia.
By Friday morning, Mr. Manafort’s predictions to confidants that he might not be able to survive in his post had come true. “This morning Paul Manafort offered, and I accepted, his resignation from the campaign,” Mr. Trump said in a statement. “I am very appreciative for his great work in helping to get us where we are today.”
In fact, Mr. Manafort did not go voluntarily. “My father just didn’t want to have the distraction looming over the campaign,” Eric Trump, the candidate’s second son, explained in a Fox News interview.
In a twist, Mr. Manafort’s ouster came after a week in which Mr. Trump had taken several steps toward the kind of normalized candidacy that Mr. Manafort had been striving for: The Republican nominee gave three speeches in which he generally stuck to a script; he mostly attacked Hillary Clinton, his Democratic opponent, while refraining from berating other Republicans; and, on Friday, he began running his first television advertisements.
Do notice what Eric Trump back then said: His father didn't want to have an distraction. The Ukraine thing (which never came to be a thing) was then a distraction. Do note that it wasn't anything about any Russia hackings or so on. So don't be here a revisionist, even if I'll agree that partly it was because of Trump unhappiness of how the campaign was going. But my point isn't revisionism, but a fact.
Or if those newsoutlets are for you just fake news, here's how Fox News reported Manafort's resignation:
See Fow News article Paul Manafort resigns from Trump campaignDonald Trump’s outspoken campaign chairman, Paul Manafort, resigned Friday -- days after he was pushed aside for conservative media executive Steven Bannon -- and also amid growing speculation about his ties to Ukrainian politics.
He came under fire following a New York Times article over the weekend claimed handwritten ledgers show $12.7 million in undisclosed cash payments to him from ex-Ukrainian President Viktor Yanukovych’s pro-Russian party between 2007 and 2012. The document was found by investigators from Ukraine’s newly formed National Anti-Corruption Bureau. Investigators reportedly say the payment was part of an illegal off-the-books system whose recipients also included election officials.
Manafort strongly denied receiving any such off-the-book payments – calling the accusation “unfounded, silly and nonsensical” – and denied ever doing work for the government of Ukraine and Russia. He has worked on political campaigns there but maintains they were not government-sanctioned. Those close to Trump praised Manafort, but did not dismiss a possible connection between his ouster and the Ukrainian controversy. "I think my father didn’t want to be, you know, distracted by whatever things Paul was dealing with," Eric Trump, told Fox News' Maria Bartiromo in an interview airing on "Sunday Morning Futures."
Same story as the NYTimes quoting Eric.
With these kinds of headlines back then during the campaign, no wonder any candidate would change their staff:
This above is from August 2016, so yes, it was the final straw back then, no matter how you want to spin it.

Re: Trump Tower Bugged by BHO?
Ukraine isn't Russia and the final straw isn't necessarily an important factor.
The real reason for Manafort's departure was that his specialty was delegate management and the focus of the campaign had shifted and Trump needed a pollster whose specialty would help tailor Trump's message for the general electorate. The real reason for Lewandowski's departure was that his specialty was helping control the news cycle through use of disruptive marketing to drown out primary opposition and the focus of the campaign had shifted and Trump needed someone with experience wrangling delegates heading into the GOP convention to ensure his nomination.
When the focus of the Trump campaign shifted he brought in a new campaign manager to aid in the re-orientation of his campaign's emphasis. It really is that simple and requires zero conspiracy theories, because this theory explains the timing of both switches in campaign management without them, Occam's Razor. The other reasons given for Lewandowski and Manafort's leaving the Trump campaign are mere window dressing to better justify the decision, they are not the major reason Trump switched horses, you're looking at a symptom and not the disease and blaming Manafort's downfall on Russian or Ukrainian ties.

StCapps,
It would be interesting to know if what you are saying is your point of view, or where you get your information. Starting from the fact that Manafort was basically replaced by BANNON and not only by Conway. ANd who has landed the more important job, hm?
Actually, I didn't know that Conway worked at first for Ted Cruz, small Republican world.
Kellyanne when still working for Cruz, bashing Trump!
She looks far better than before thrown under and being mauled by the Trump bus.
But it's great to hear her talk all the same things Trump-haters are bringing up even now,
tells just how it's all a show.

+1 to you noticing thisssu wrote: She looks far better than before thrown under and being mauled by the Trump bus.
She wasn't a threat back then and the media didn't bother photoshopping and choosing the least-flattering photos of her to publish.
Either that or working with Trump for a few months physically warped reality, take your pick.

Well it was obvious to a lot of people she wasn't getting enough sleep not long ago. I literally saw people on Twitter telling her to get some rest they were worried about her lol
