U.S. tells Ukraine it won’t send long-range missiles because it has few to spare
https://www.politico.com/news/2023/02/1 ... e-00082652

The US has now put a lot of qualifiers on the promised M1 Abrahams. They said they will send them, but we have to build them first. We can't send M-1's, because we can't risk letting our tech out.

Folks we don't have M-1 Abrahams factories, those were torn down in 80s. All the M-1s were built in the 70s and 80s and now we just update them. Ukraine isn't getting tanks from us.

I have also heard on podcasts, that the Germans are starting to pull back on their pledge for tanks because they feel tricked by the USA.
What? No they didn't, they still have the plant in Lima, OH building Abrams. Production has greatly diminished since the 80's, focus is more on refurbishment, but they still build new ones. There were plans to close down the plant, but Trump did the opposite.
So, I looked into this a little more. You are correct the factory is there, and Trump saved it.

From what I can tell is they do have plans to build new Abrams, but none are being produced at this time. The facility is still being used to refit.

I tried to find the number of tanks being produced there in the last decade, but didn't find any new, from scratch, tanks being produced there.

Let me know if you find something different, I'm truly interested.

Not much really out there for public consumption.

Looks like we’ve ceded Crimea. Somebody finally realized that they made a mistake.

We should, because if we got it and the US tried to build a naval base there, it would be nuclear war

We are depleting our military ammunition stocks at an alarming rate, and it won't be easy to rebuild them.

There is a silver lining, it makes it more difficult for the narcissists to take us into WWIII.

MacGregor says if NATO went to war with Russia right now, they’d get their ass kicked without nukes.

I have a bad feeling he's right, at least in a sense.
I don't think Russia can project power, if we fought in Ukraine I expect we'd get a good first surge, and then we wouldn't do a helluva lot better than Ukraine.

Considering that it's all our equipment, Intel and leadership running this shitshow.

Our Navy is in horrible shape, we are cannibalizing ships to keep the regular patrols up. I honestly don't know if our Army has a fighting spirit anymore. We stumbled head long into an industrial war, and we destroyed our industrial capacity.

Tell them the facists want to take away their puppies, safe spaces, and want to hurt their feelings... You'll get them fighting in no time.

And there it is…. China entering into an alliance with Russia. American foreign policy ultimate fail.

I said that over a month ago about Russia and China.

The current policy from the US is going to fail, but anything Biden touches fails.

Zelensky now threatening the US.

After hearing that support for the war in the US is waining, Zelensky threatened that if the US didn't not keep giving and giving and giving, NATO would be destroyed and the US would no longer be a world leader.

I'm not sure I see the problem in those consequences, but I'll not be threatened by an evil little Gremlin

Total lack of endgame here. Same level of idiocy we’ve displayed in Iraq and Afghanistan.
