You are correct the factory is there, and Trump saved it.TheOneX wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 2:09 pmWhat? No they didn't, they still have the plant in Lima, OH building Abrams. Production has greatly diminished since the 80's, focus is more on refurbishment, but they still build new ones. There were plans to close down the plant, but Trump did the opposite.C-Mag wrote: ↑Wed Feb 15, 2023 1:30 pmU.S. tells Ukraine it won’t send long-range missiles because it has few to spare

The US has now put a lot of qualifiers on the promised M1 Abrahams. They said they will send them, but we have to build them first. We can't send M-1's, because we can't risk letting our tech out.
Folks we don't have M-1 Abrahams factories, those were torn down in 80s. All the M-1s were built in the 70s and 80s and now we just update them. Ukraine isn't getting tanks from us.
I have also heard on podcasts, that the Germans are starting to pull back on their pledge for tanks because they feel tricked by the USA.
From what I can tell is they do have plans to build new Abrams, but none are being produced at this time. The facility is still being used to refit.
I tried to find the number of tanks being produced there in the last decade, but didn't find any new, from scratch, tanks being produced there.
Let me know if you find something different, I'm truly interested.
