Complain about the unfairness of it all until you are blue in the face, but Hash is right... you got to do something to keep the cock-suckers in line.
Quality of life increases due to technical advancements is their main justification for the rape of the middle and lower classes. Oh but poor people can watch World Cup matches on TV so it's all good! The poor are just like the rich because they can see a World Cup match!   That podcast was total crap! We (as a society) have been bought off by gadgets, gizmos, and told by the elites to STFU.

In 1965 the CEO to average worker pay ratio was 65 to 1. It's now 300 to 1. That's all you really need to know about income inequality.
You take a lot for granted. How many generations back do you have to go to find direct ancestors without electricity, clean water, transportation, access to information, &c? Do you think the state drew a line from that generation to your spoiled-brat ass? Or was there some other mysterious factor in play?
Fifty years ago, if you had any real work ethic, and small bit of luck, you could find a job that would ultimately paid for the wife, the 2.5 kids, the dog, and the house with the yard. Even as a laborer, you could support yourself, and just maybe raise a family. There was a very healthy manufacturing industry, and the colleges were almost free, especially in states like California, if you wanted to go white collar. You could easily make a case that if somebody was unsuccessful, they were lazy.

Can you say that now? Most of the country below the top 10% is at best treading water, and more often slowly drowning. The country is wealthier than even. Indeed the wealth growth is faster than the population growth, but almost all of the increase in wealth has gone to the top 10%, since about 1970, and lately to the top 1% only.

So when the top 1% have everything, because as wealth attacks wealth like a black hole does light, they will have all the money, what happens then? When the average person knows that no matter how hard they try they're screwed, and that extra true for their family, they start thinking revolution.

That is why many are harping on income inequality.

I love how boomers talk about getting through college washing dishes or buying their house by mowing yards.

Two can play at that! It does not matter why nobody has money. The results are the same. Nowadays, the 99% are getting poorer while the 1% are sucking up all the money. BTW, the Great Depression occurred right after the last great peak of wealth inequality.

Buying a house by mowing the law would not quite be correct. :)

However my boomer family all did get the extra money needed by working during the Summer, and then college in the Fall. Of course the work was usually at the car plant, or some such, but still.
