If it ever gains enough popularity to threaten Facebook, or if it begins to make a serious impact on elections by undermining the 'narrative', then the domain will be delisted by the registrar, or the DNS servers will be fucked with, or the DDOS prevention services will be cut off, or eventually the handful of corporations (like ATT&T, Sprint, and Verizon) who actually own the Internet will refuse to allow packet data to and from those servers.

They will say it's a platform for hate speech and fake news and they don't want that data traffic on their networks, or they don't want hate sites on their domain, etc.

Gab is your prime example. They are down to only a few registrars that will even host their domain. Once those are lost, Gab is out.

He’s right though - somebody should certainly try.

From a marketing standpoint, it’s a loser. You don’t want to segregate half of your potential users. It’s still seen as better to simply fix Facebook - whether that’s possible or not.

I think it's a safe bet that many of these 'Right' aligned folks that are being censored are talking and getting together to do just that.

Facebook can't be fixed because the people in charge of it are liberals. If they even try and find neutral ground they will be shamed and shunned by their liberal social and business circles and forced to move back to the left. Up until now that has been a huge difference between the distinct left and right. The left will try and end you while the right is happy with live and let live.

Trump should at least sign up on Gab.

Ideally someone needs to file suit against some of these places though... I mean, if a judge can rule that Trump isn't allowed to block people on Twitter, then why can't a banned Twitter user (or group of them in a class action?) sue Twitter for violating their free speech in not allowing them unfettered access to msg their President?
