Really bad look here:
A Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS) official has said officers “could have been shot” if they engaged the gunman holed up with his victims in a classroom at Robb Elementary School before a specialist tactical team arrived.
Why even bother? Kid shows up with a gun, 3 armed men run away, 20 children killed but the officers are okay.
This is where this "Me too" movement, and the "defund the police" movement has come into the same play and have gutted the police of real men who aren't afraid to get into danger to save people's lives like they were paid to do in the first place.

This is no longer the police force we grew up with, but a pussy force... and I want to go down to texas myself right now and cut the balls off of every single office down there that did nothing... cause they are not obviously doing anything with them.

I've read so many conflicting stories and reports so far I really don't know what actually happened that day. Yet another indication at just how much of a failure journalism is in this country. It's about getting out the headline first and getting the clicks. Who cares if it's accurate or not.

I do understand that you don't want to just let dozens of people, a lot with guns, blindly running into the school. The biggest failure was how it got to the point of a gunman basically taking an elementary school hostage. My old office required a badge to unlock the doors to get in. Why can't schools all have that? We just sent 40 billion to Ukraine. Spend that on our kids instead. Sure, lots of kids will forget their badge. So then you have someone manning the door who can let them in. No one should be letting an 18 year old into an elementary school.

I have heard the shooter was in there for an hour. I have heard conflicting reports that say he didn't shoot anyone until after 40 minutes. If that is the case, the police are trying to de-escalate, which letting random people run in could cause more harm.

Best cure for this is prevention. This kid had many, many warning signs before this. Figure out how to handle this kid before it gets to mass shooter stage. If it does, then have at least some roadblocks in place, like a security guard that does his job or badged doors, or armed teachers.

Why are you assuming the police officers were men?

I don't disagree with this mostly.

My issues are as thus...

1. This kid was known by the FBI... he was already red-flagged by them...

2. The police may have been waiting to deescalate all they wanted, but the minute they had a clear shot they should have taken it. A dead attacker is better than a dead victim. (Police should have had every exit and hallway blocked off as well, quiet room to room search and then taken him out.)

3. Schools like that have rules about doors facing outside not being opened during school time, if that rule was broken well, then there is something wrong there.

4. The kid either has parents or grandparents that are raising this kid, instead of raising him right it sounds like he was put in front of the TV or the computer and let to his own vices... With what schools are teaching or not teaching now on top of that, plus the bullying he got when he was in and out of school when he went are perfect storms.

I don't honestly care about the timeline, things fell apart and there was no backup plan. This isn't the movie where the hero wins, this is real life and people need to treat every situation as their last because for some kids that is exactly what it became.

The police failed, the teachers failed, the education system failed... everyone failed. The question who is to blame? There is plenty to go around, but at this point in time, we need to start pointing fingers because there is plenty of failures to go around.

If you want to stop gun ownership over this fuck that noise, perhaps a proper background check should be done... because if the FBI knew about him and let it go to the wayside when he was given his permit... then we have bigger problems than we can ever imagine.

Did you see any women officers in the videos? And honestly, I don't give a shit if there was, if they kept the officers from doing their job they can go back home and become house mothers pregnant and barefoot because there is no place for weak men in a field where brave men are meant to protect others.

If they can't protect us from anything, then the only time I will call them will be to get the body bags to remove the corpses from the invaders from my house.

The Police cult of "Just come home at night" is brightly in the spotlight.

What a clusterfuck. Again.

Guys this is not new, this is SOP, the cops do just what they are trained to do. Protect their own asses first, clean up the mess later and point fingers. This is the ugly bastard stepchild of law enforcement bred and reared in police academies all over the nation, with their curriculums written and seen over by the FBI and DOJ.

Just like SF's favorite club, Pulse, and Columbine, we see cops waiting around outside, unwilling to put their lives on the line for the public. It's a town of 16,000 most of these people know one another and see each other out and about. The town's biggest expenditure is Police, at 40% of their budget, then next closest line item is under 10%. They also manage to have a SWAT team of 20. Well, all that money was fucking wasted. I think the Police Chief even said it........... 'If the cops went in there, they might get shot.'

No shit motherfucker, that's why we pay you. The psychology and training of modern LEOs is totally fucked.

An Hour and Fifteen Fucking Minutes they let him sit in a classroom. Those fuckers took time to put up crime scene tape and taze parents braver then they are. Fuck these clowns.

Then its time to bring our military home and put them in police garb. If our police aren’t willing to put themsrlves in danger like we pay them to do at worst case senario, then it’s time to put in place people who will.

We did it after WWII. We can do it here now.
