I don't see it that way today. I admit I was fooled that the guy was genuine. But he was genuine only in the Chris Hedges sense. He lays out true problems, but can only see one villain because he's been on that side all along.
That's not fair to Chris Hedges
Chris Hedges admits his bias
Dan Carlin pretends to sit on the fence, like CNN
while still being heavily biased
Hedges is authentic, Carlin is a phony
the left is good at identifying problems
but is terrible at identifying solutions to those problems
Carlin and Hedges are alike, in that regard
I don't know if I've ever heard Hedges admit that, but I'll take your word for it.
Regardless he plays as a man of the people while telling us giving more power to the Socialists in charge is the answer.
Hedges is what was called in 19th century America : a Christian Socialist
he is in the tradition of the Liberation Theology
like the Pope is also that, the Pope is the Socialist Pope
now, Hedges was in the war, he has gone to the front lines, risked his life to be a war correspondent
so I can respect that, and he also knows who is who in the zoo on the battlefield
but you know, I am a conservative Christian, so at the point where Hedges lines up with his idol Noam Chomsky ?
that's where he is lost to Christ
he is more of an intellectual social "Christian" than he is a true believer in Christ
you don't need socialism when you have Christ, saying that Christ was some sort of government socialist, is the essence of Popery
