That’s a lot of erroneous talking points, false assertions, and woe-is-meisms packed into one short paragraph. Wrong on all counts. All productive labor does not rise to the level of earning self sufficiency. Profits are skewed towards the top because investors and entrepreneurs sank the startup capital and took all the risks of failure and loss, and we’re so far from being a third world nation that you feel no shame in dismissing the very idea that your offspring might lower themselves to doing manual labor out of hand.

There is a difference between having the experience and having it be your work for your entire life.

I’m proud of paying my own way, but I really don’t get how you can forget what poverty is like. There has to be a way to move up.

Of you pick strawberries forever you have work ethic, but no ambition, and that’s ok.

Or you really, really, love picking strawberries, that’s ok too.

Otherwise, you can pick strawberries until you can afford a CDL to be a truck driver, tech certs to get into the Rex industry, or startup capital for your own biz.

One of your president’s advisors packed blueberries for 8 years.

You're not aware then. You can mostly definitely get through college, or tradeschool from financial aid, scholarships, and or subsidized and non-subsidized loans. It's completely possibly at any age.
That’s if you qualify for subsidized or scholarships, and most don’t. I put one through 4 year and one through a trade school. We qualified for a massive $600 subsidized loan the year both kids were in. Both kids got some scholarship money, but it was a small percentage. Trust me, I made myself extremely aware.

Duh. The aid is not for people that have money. And for the parents that do have money, but won't give it to their children, there are still options. Unsubsidized loans. Bam. Or the kid can just wait a couple of years until he no longer is seen as supported by a parent. But for the most part, this is not directed toward the statsical anomolies.

Or we’ve set our society up so that the strawberry owners have enforcers so strawberry picking is the only option for a lot of people.

The enforcers, BTW, have ambition and a work ethic.
