But I am pro-community.
And I see over and over that we have lost community.
We tend to not know our neighbours.
Our kids have very little connection outside of school with their classmates.
Parents in the school tend to have very little trust in teachers or other parents... so how do we expect the kids to trust one another.
My kids socialize mostly over their iphones.... they have way less face to face time with their peers than we used to....
If when they want to - WE have to drive them and pick them up... because of the suburban fact of the matter and the fact that their school is too far away... so the kids they know are too far away, even to bike to.
I guess we could have made different choices as parents as to where we chose to live.... but you have to actively think about these things today... in the past it just wasn't like this.
Parenting was easier way back then... because kids could trust their communities... and you didn't have to pull them off technology all the time.
Most parents give up on it after a while and surrender to the techo-sitter.

Sure, anyone can get applause by parroting some variation the ol’ “We got trouble, right here in River City” song.
That’s why it’s long been a staple for snake oil salesmen.
Starts with an ‘L’ and that rhymes with hell, and that stands for LONELY.

Loneliness is all about one's personally interactions. That's like 50 people. The problems of multiculturalism is a macroproblem. Loneliness is a microproblem.
Unless you are 1% minority in some place, the demographics have shit to do with being lonely.
Blaming multiculturalism for being a lonely... well that's something a lonely person would say... but changing the macrodemographic of the country would do nothing to make them less lonely.
Social scientific research literally identifies multiculturalism as the driving cause of low-trust devolution of our society as well as alienation. The only crazy person here is you who rejects science because it conflicts with your ideology.
The devolution of the nation state has nothing to do with personal loneliness.

Straw man. You reject science because it conflicts with your ideology. Then you engage in straw man bullshit to obfuscate it.

Not even a little bit. There is no idealogy to conflict with.Speaker to Animals wrote:Straw man. You reject science because it conflicts with your ideology. Then you engage in straw man bullshit to obfuscate it.
You are simply a one trick pony that tries to fit turn every issue into the same hole.
I'm not arguing for multiculturalism at all here.
Loneliness has next to nothing to do with whether or not your nation is thriving or disintegrating.
Loneliness is about the everyday people you interact with.
If you think you can't have any friends because the brown people are moving in... you truly do have mental issues.

Multiculturalism does. Scientific fact. Humans are a tribal species.

What science, though? We meet new people just walking around the neighborhood after dinner. Lonely is a choice.doc_loliday wrote:So much science in this thread.
