It's so impressive. About time America got back in business for real. Manned space flight is the shit.

Start saving up now for your future, fully automated SpaceX mining drone. Gonna find myself a nice diamond-rich rock and strike it big. It'll happen, I’m sure. I might be 70+ by then, of course.

how bad does nasa look right now. The guy made spacesuits that look like motorcycle jackets. Replaced all the switches and nonsense with touch pads. And caught 2/3rds of a rocket on a bullseye.

If they are making do with less, getting what they pay SpaceX for, getting a better product out of it and still get to do their jobs which is find out more about space and how to travel there, I'd say they're looking pretty good.

And in a vacuum that cool looking spacesuit is good for nothing but keeping you alive - it'll inflate like a balloon and the person in it will probably struggle to even move.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 3:12 pmhow bad does nasa look right now. This is what a real "spacesuit" looks like.

you think nasa approved putting their astronauts in suits that don’t work? They haven’t changed the design since Apollo.Ph64 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 3:54 pmAnd in a vacuum that cool looking spacesuit is good for nothing but keeping you alive - it'll inflate like a balloon and the person in it will probably struggle to even move.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 3:12 pmhow bad does nasa look right now. Those are IVA suits - similar to the orange one in your video. You can bet his EVA suit will look cool as shit too.

Hm. If what you're saying is true, I guess the astronauts in the SpaceX craft won't be going on spacewalks?Ph64 wrote: ↑Mon Jun 01, 2020 3:54 pmAnd in a vacuum that cool looking spacesuit is good for nothing but keeping you alive - it'll inflate like a balloon and the person in it will probably struggle to even move.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat May 30, 2020 3:12 pmhow bad does nasa look right now. Not in those suits they won't. Besides which they "plug in" to their seat for air.BjornP wrote: ↑Tue Jun 02, 2020 2:43 amHm. If you watched the live stream you'll note they only wore them for takeoff and the early maneuvering tests, etc. As soon as they were settled in and headed for the ISS those suits were off. They didn't even have them on when they exited the capsule to enter the ISS. The only thing those suits are good for is an emergency if they have to abort after liftoff, the capsule gets punctured by something, etc.
