This great leader lost eventually, try to take her statue down and my trebuchet of peace will reign down a firey death on your Roman invader loving arses.

For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

But without the Romans that statue would have looked like this

The Romans saved you people from being permanently like this

Yeah. Without the Romans, they'd not even know how to make statues, so good riddance. She also was an absolutely terrible military leader, getting a lot of people killed in what should have been a victory.

General Zapata lost too, but we have a statue of him in San Diego

Hey, and after we put a MLK statue next to the confederate monuments as has been suggested, will need to put next to MLK the names of the orginal authors that MLK plagiarized and the something for the justice of all his extramarital affairs.
And then a statue of James Earl Ray because he "won," according to the lefty logic.

Valle de los Caídos in Spain is the perfect example of political correctness and how old grudges seldom actually die. Built by Franco to be a monument for a national act of atonement and reconciliation, the socialist government in Spain closed it down in 2009 ...for health reasons! Oh rocks could come down and hurt people below! :D

After Zapatero's electoral defeat and his leaving office on December 21, 2011, normal service at the Basilica resumed. ;)

Other people know also statue/monument politics.

The recent smart assery posted by myself and others about destroying statues of losers demonstrate my distaste for all of this intolerant behavior by the statue destroyers.

They are using force to tell us what is acceptable and what is not, and THEY decide, not you.

The left is better in this game, the right isn't as good.

There's a small window for attacking monuments, flags or in the end legislation this way. One has to have an act of terror or mass murder or something to the equivalent. Otherwise the forceful pushing of an agenda wouldn't be successfull even in the MSM. Nobody was attacking the statues before Charlottesville incident, and the Confederate battle flag (or the flags of the Southern States) weren't at all a hot topic before Dylan Roof decided to kill some black people in a church. I would call it shock politics: push your agenda as forcefully as you can when people are in shock.
