All i ask is for the same thing i get most of time i buy product. It's not unreasonable, politics has to deliver more or they lose customers just like any other service provider.Okeefenokee wrote:then i hope you're only ten, because the point you don't seem to have gotten to is a place where we all arrive when we realize that our childish idealism doesn't comport to reality. i can't think of a place where this is more applicable than politics. get away from childish ideality and step into reality. principles and nobility make for good fiction. and they feel good. but they don't last long in an honest evaluation of reality.Hwen Hoshino wrote:I would prefer faster success and more principle.Okeefenokee wrote:
that preference plays little to no role in determining the efficacy of the person in question.
that's the problem everyone is having to face. the fact that just because you don't like someone doesn't mean that person can't succeed.

not true.
not even close.
politics is not buying a coffee at the 7-11. the gas station needs you to come in. if you don't come in, they don't make money. they have to be geared completely to getting you to come to them.
the relationship with government is one hundred percent in the opposite direction. it is in their best interests if you stay away. the gas station needs you to come in so they can continue to exist. the government does not need your participation to continue to exist.
thinking like that only makes you look like you're ten, and you haven't figured any of this out yet.

you started at, i don't like his attitude.
and you ended with us being in a somali anarchy because participation in the government dropped to zero.
can you take a step back and see how ridiculous that is?
we're nowhere near zero levels of participation. any discussion of that would be so hypothetical and completely fictionalized as to make it meaningless.
it's just one more fairytale coming out of the same camp that has been churning out fairytales non-stop since november.

sorry scooter, the status quo just got upended. elections have consequences, and all that. it's you who are railing against change, not me.
