Over half the population of the US is in the south. You wouldn't want a popular vote to be the deciding factor in US politics.

Doesn't work like that. All the urban areas are blue. That's where most of the population is. The south is no different regarding this strange feature of civilization.Okeefenokee wrote:Over half the population of the US is in the south. Why not? Whatever they voted would be the will of the people.Okeefenokee wrote:Over half the population of the US is in the south. You wouldn't want a popular vote to be the deciding factor in US politics.

Compared the places elsewhere, the south has a lot of people who don't live in cities. Californians wouldn't like being dictated to by southern yokels any more than the south wants to be dictated to by left coast yuppies.

We already have that issue. Eliminating the EC wouldn't make it better or worse.Okeefenokee wrote:Compared the places elsewhere, the south has a lot of people who don't live in cities. It sure as fuck would have gave us Clinton. Trump is the most southern president since Davis vote wise.

Re: What is the Chance of an Electoral College Revolt?
Yeah, it would. You'd have 30/50 states voting one way, and two counties in California and NYC deciding the other.

Both sanctuary cities including my shit hole Houston which surprise surprise went blue along with Dallas and San Antonio (more sanctuary cities,) but Austin was always blue. They are weird like that.
