Again, the per capita gross state product of CT is not down, it's up, from 2009-2012, it averaged around $54-55,000, now it's hovering around $67-72,000, rich people are not apprently fleeing as much as you would have us beleive, if they were, those numbers would be down not up, since according to you, it's not the government whose sitting on all the money in Conneticut.

Plummeting state income tax collections are experiencing their worst decline since the last recession, falling $450 million below anticipated levels for April — one-and-a-half times the free fall projected just one day ago.

More importantly, the escalating erosion means income tax projections for the next two fiscal years must be downgraded by $500 million and $600 million, respectively, Gov. Dannel P. Malloy’s administration said Thursday.

Of additional concern is the impact Connecticut’s heavy burden has on the state’s wealthy residents. The state’s largest taxpayers are taking a look at the financial environment and moving their assets elsewhere. Not only are wealthy residents frustrated by the big hit the income-tax takes, they also must contend with Connecticut’s estate tax and gift tax. Instead of remaining in Connecticut and putting much of their wealth into government coffers, many wealthy families are electing to move to one of the 36 states that does not have an estate tax – or to one of the 49 states that does not have a gift tax (that’s right, only Connecticut levies this additional tariff). This exodus of wealth should alarm state leaders. When families with means leave Connecticut, they take with them income taxes, sales taxes, future jobs created by their companies, and philanthropic support for Connecticut’s charitable organizations.

But check this out, Darien CT, per capita income; $200,000, which is higher per capita income than the richest per capita income country in the world; Qatar, at only $129,000

Those numbers are skewed because of hedge funds - which have been picking up and moving south at an alarming rate.

I'm telling you - CT is not as rich as everyone thinks....and those with means are moving out at a "Tremendous" speed.

And even if its the case that the wealthy are just good at not paying state tax - doesn't change the fact that CT is piss as broke....
