This.StCapps wrote:Apparently all it took to get Americans to go full on Canadian when it comes to free speech is to have the media talk smack about Donald Trump, before that these folks were pro-free speech, but media propaganda against Trump has now changed their mind for some reason. It was fine for the media to lie about politicians they didn't like, but they like Trump so now it's not cool anymore.
Why the fuck are 2 Canadians defending our First Amendment, against the "righties" on this board? This place is going full retard.

The media deserves protection, only, and only if they do their job, and aren't mouthpieces for any one party...GrumpyCatFace wrote:This.StCapps wrote:Apparently all it took to get Americans to go full on Canadian when it comes to free speech is to have the media talk smack about Donald Trump, before that these folks were pro-free speech, but media propaganda against Trump has now changed their mind for some reason. If you don't act like you are supposed to, with unbiased and informational reporting, do you lose your rights? No. Then neither should the media. The Conservative wrote:If the media doesn't act like how they are supposed to which is unbiased, and informational reporting, then they loose their rights... and as far as I can tell, they have.
Why should the media lose their rights and no one else, just because you don't like them and want to lash out at them, no matter how irrational that lashing out is?

The absurdity of this whole situation and the refusal of the Left to make any concessions on Russia-gate leaves very few paths forward together.
There are two demographics, largely determined by sexuality, race and culture that have totally opposing views on what is in their best interest.
Trump actually bought more people together than the last two presidents as seen by the break down of the Dem MW blue wall and the Democratic Party realizes that it is doomed unless something drastic happens to rebuild that division among whites.

I'm not protected like they are. If I don't give my sources to the police I can go to jail/prison. The media are protected under specific constitutional rights that the average citizen isn't. When the media start playing politics on behalf of a party, they should loose those rights, and be treated like everyone else.StCapps wrote:If you don't act like you are supposed to, with unbiased and informational reporting, do you lose your rights? Just because they do it as a profession doesn't mean they should be stripped of their rights, if they don't act the way you would like them to.The Conservative wrote:If the media doesn't act like how they are supposed to which is unbiased, and informational reporting, then they loose their rights... and as far as I can tell, they have.

Nope they should lose their rights if they break the law, not when they don't follow proper journalistic ethics and haven't broken the law.The Conservative wrote:When the media start playing politics on behalf of a party, they should loose those rights, and be treated like everyone else.
