Ohio disagrees with GrumpyCatFace and Florida disagrees with Kath. Kath was shocked by the Florida result and they both were absolutely shocked by the general election results. That should be evidence enough that the general public doesn't think about Trump the way they do, yet they still project their pet peeves about Trump on the general population. They are political misfit toys, the rest of America does not think the way they do, but they refuse to accept reality.

The man is not stupid, and his election was really improbable, but he got elected partly because of his deliberate actions.

Since one of his strengths is using PR BS on people to get what he wants, including the Presidency, that's what his is doing. I just don't think he really knew what he wanted before he got elected.

+1

He has succeeded through deliberate actions, smart planning and out working the opposition. He was smart enough to select Kelley anne Conway, who had her pulse on American society, especially Gen X. I understand she wrote a paper years ago and basically predicted where we would be and what needed to be done to win this type of an election. I haven't found it yet.

What I'm not sure about is his intent from the time he entered the race. I have no way to really determine that.

You can form an opinion based on the fact he almost ran third party before as the "reform party."

52/44. He won more than 50% of the votes in 23 states, but only 9 states gave him more than 60%.

His highest was 68.6% in WV. His lowest was DC, with 4%. (That one is an outlier, as is Clinton's 90% in DC.)

Clinton won only 14 states with over 50%. Highest was DC, 90% lowest was Wyoming , 22%.

It was a pretty even contest all around. Most states hovered in the 50/50 - 60/40 range.

Trump did his first side by side press conference with a foreign leader, the United Kingdoms Theresa May. Just the visual alone has some wondering if we are entering a new age of Reagan - Thatcher. That's yet to be seen. But Trump is going to have to do better in his political appearance in public, because he won't be dealing with Construction Superintendants, but politicians which are much, much more sensitive to appearance.

Except Trump won pretty much all the important swing states. So it was a blowout. Trump spent his resources far more wisely and was rewarded with a yuge win.

Very, VERY even. This is why the popular vote stuff is meaningless, and a canard when used as an arguing point.

In a game this closely contested, observance of the rules is all important.

It's like saying "OK, I was put into mate, I get that, but I still had 7 pawns, a bishop, and a knight, and all you had was 4 pawns, a rook, and queen. Seems like I should be the real winner here."

Wasn't even the resources, the Democrats had simply failed to come through for the Rust Belt, Hopey Changey never made it to the districts outside of the urban centers, Trump simply swept in and filled the vaccuum which the Democrats left in their wake.

These numbers can be parsed. I view it as a landslide by Trump, and the county by county count displays that.
