Sociopaths are the dudes I just explained with no real conscience.
Organized because they aren't disorganized like most mentally ill people and are very effective at planning and executing their crimes.
Legal barriers to owning guns won't stop them from getting guns... like I said before... so legal deterrence is hardly effective...

Keeping guns away from law abiding folks... makes them softer targets for sociopaths...
But sociopaths generally will take folks out armed or not... if they become hardened killers.

Sociopaths trust no one but themselves.
They disregard the rights of others with impunity.
They can read other people easily and are masters of manipulation.
The rates of sociopathy are highest in the segments of society that suffer the greatest hardship.
When you think about it, it is a perfect adaptation to an environment where you actually can trust no one but yourself.

So these individuals are motivated to find a weapon and will acquire one on the black market or the white market.
They are highly motivated to do so, and have the skills to do so.
They have skills that are valued in the underworld... so they make accomplished gangsters and hitmen.

They can also be pretty ruthless in the business and political world... so they aren't rare there either.

Tests and background checks are a joke when it comes to trying to keep firearms out of the hands of sociopaths.
But fortunately sociopaths generally have little to gain from mass shootings... they aren't usually suicidal.
It's a pretty stable condition... but if they do become unbalanced... they are capable of the worst crimes.
