Non-responsive hooey, as usual.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 9:09 amHow exactly do you suggest educating children who can't afford private schooling?
Or are you just going to tell them their parents should have worked harder?
Maybe you think that educating the poor is a bad idea or a waste of money?
Ain't no way to cut costs by adding the profit motive to providing a public service. Look at the cost of your healthcare compared to nations with public healthcare systems.
Can you respond to the argument that was laid out?
As to your non-response, neither education nor healthcare are public goods. All the state can possibly do is turn them completely FUBAR; see, e.g., 2019 IRL all around you. But you already knew all of that.

Never hurt me or any of my fellow students when I was a kid. School started at 8am, lunch was at 11-something AM. Staple was two slices of rye bread with liver pate and sliced cucumbers, wrapped simply in tinfoil. Probably the most boringly common Danish lunch food kids of my generation got in their lunchbox or pack.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 8:57 amYeah it's two hours for unrefrigerated meat. Going to have to be an early lunch.BjornP wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 8:34 amDepends on for how long the high-risk food is unrefrigerated for (time between the making of the sandwich and lunch time) and the temperatures it's exposed to. Shouldn't mean you can't have a packed lunch, just that it should contain food which doesn't need refrigeration.
Fruit and nuts are good.
In which case, schools should simply provide students with a fridge. Both cheaper and more respectful.
Of course, schools should provide fridges for kid's sandwiches. Going to be a lot of fridges for a big school. Got to ask who is going to be paying for them though.
Anyway, when a public school can demand that - under any circumstance (no matter if parents even give their kids lunches that won't spoil) kids MUST buy the shitty, unhealthy and uninspiring cafeteria junkfood at the school, that's not something you think is a result of government overreach?
If a kids one day gets a bad tummy from a turkey sandwich that's been sitting in their bag for five hours on a hot summer's day or so, that's neither grounds for demanding kids only buy food from the school cafeteria or threatening them with child services.

Luckily for you, and your Danish school mates, liver pate is crammed full of salt and other preservatives, unlike turkey. I'm guessing it's cooler than many parts of the US too.
As for schools demanding that kids eat canteen food. I never said I supported that. I said fruit and nuts or other foods that don't spoil. Even if some parents will just put chocolate, crisps (chips), biscuits and sugary drinks in the pack ups.
I would probably limit the amount of bad food the school canteen served though.
Glad to see you use two slices of bread for a sandwich though.
Those famous Danish ''open sandwiches'' always seemed like an unfinished job to me.

It's so you can appreciate all the colours, I think. Alot of the year, weather is gray and sort of dark. Lots of colours in the food is appreciated. Or that's why I think it's still popular. That and they are meant to be eaten with the occasional downing of schnaps.Montegriffo wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 10:16 am

I love Danish blue cheese and was really disappointed to find that my ''sandwich'' in Copenhagen consisted of one slice of bread, a butter portion and a square of cheese.BjornP wrote: ↑Sat Jul 20, 2019 10:30 amIt's so you can appreciate all the colours, I think. Talk about deconstructing a dish. I had to bloody make it myself!
