No that's the best part. Eventually the left will be smashed even greater than this time.Amen. Seriously. The polarization is the biggest danger of the current political and social climate. When the pendulum of power balance becomes a wrecking ball, that's a recipe for disaster.

Ok, take out the "amen. Seriously" part... Better?Speaker to Animals wrote:Oh please. Enough virtue signaling, already.

No how about you and Bjorn stop playing the virtue signaling game and form some real arguments.

Wrecking ball favours the Right inherently, who knew?TheReal_ND wrote:No that's the best part. Eventually the left will be smashed even greater than this time.Amen. Seriously. No it sucks because the quality of debate as a result is incredibly stupid and non-ideological, nonintellectual, filled with slander and misrepresentation of viewpoints. Nothing is helpful about this. It's amusing and entertaining at best, but also antithetical to any meaningful and constructive progress.TheReal_ND wrote:No that's the best part. As opposed to what? The mythical America that never was? If you're not confortable with the American Hurly Burly, you'll probably have to move to Canada, mind you, we can be pretty underhanded as well when the elections are on the line, we just don't have elections without end, so you only have put up with it for a month or so every few years.nickle7 wrote:No it sucks because the quality of debate as a result is incredibly stupid and non-ideological, nonintellectual, filled with slander and misrepresentation of viewpoints. But you are so much more enlightened than everybody else who takes sides, amiright?nickle7 wrote:No it sucks because the quality of debate as a result is incredibly stupid and non-ideological, nonintellectual, filled with slander and misrepresentation of viewpoints. As opposed to the type of dialogue and ideas Dan puts out. Like Dave Rubin puts out. Like Sam Harris puts out. The list goes on. Moving to Canada doesn't solve anything. I'm having this dialogue because I'd like more civility injected into our national dialogue. I'm not saying kumbaya. We need ruthless debate, but it better be logical. Mudslinging gets no one anywhere.Smitty-48 wrote:As opposed to what? The mythical America that never was? Good eye, Bjorn. Allow me to assist.BjornP wrote:Ah, right. That old assumption of yours that you're not the "real deal" or have "the courage of your convictions" if you're not either a 0 or a 10 on some Left-Right wing political scale. I prefer to live in the real world, where not only more political philosophies exist than hardcore Marxist and hardcore Conservative, but also where most people really don't give a fuck about mixing political ideas up a little. People are what they are. A Social Democrat isn't a "failed Stalinist", anymore that a Tea Party Republican is a "failed".... I dunno "neo-Confederate rebel" or whatever stereotype fits them best.Smitty-48 wrote:Well of course I am aware that Dr. Kneedipper doesn't have the courage of his convictions, that is in fact what differentiates a Champers Bolshie from the real deal, but I do him the honour of not crushing every last ounce of his street cred by calling him a "Liberal", as in Canada, that is a loaded term, he is my homey from the 6ix after all, so I still allow him the refuge of his Rump Party fallacy, as while I am a cruel man, I'm still a homey from the 6ix till I die. <gang sign>
The essence of Cultural Marxism, is essentially alienation from the American Hegenomy, but there's no actual class struggle economic underpinings to it anymore, as we are all well aware. The Cultural Marxists are all bourgeois middle class pampered dillettantes, to be sure.
