Yeah, he looks good in this, but it’s kind of like punching a disabled kid.C-Mag wrote: ↑Sun Jan 06, 2019 12:40 pmCarolla is following stats, that show the number one indicator of a shitty result is broken homes.SuburbanFarmer wrote: ↑Sat Jan 05, 2019 11:12 pm
I wasn't responding to the video, just to the sentiment.
Corolla is right - broken families are probably a major part of the problem. But he's arguing solely on feelz, and not data. He happens to be arguing against a douchebag politician, which makes his virtue shine brighter, but this could have used more actual numbers, rather than homespun logic.
The assumption that Jews and Asians have fewer broken homes is interesting. If there's a study on that, I'd like to see it. If I had to spitball a reason, I'd say that both groups are more culturally programmed to follow The Authority, and not seek personal happiness at a premium.
I'd like to see a study where Jews and Asians are programmed to follow authority and not seek personal happiness.
The wake up call in an interview like this is the two parties debating. On one side you have the Lt Gov of California, who comes from a succesful family filled with judges, doctors, professors, the guy is college educated, internationally educated, etc.
Then you have Carolla, who describes his education as being warehoused, barely able to read, welfare divorcee mom, chronic failure dad.
Carolla destroys the guys arguments.
Asia has a long, long history of totalitarian rule, and mass genocide. Jews have a unique history, having sort of invented monotheism (Ultimate Authority), and being largely persecuted at random throughout their history.
Again, I don’t have data to back it up, just reasoning. Same as Corolla.
