It's just another expensive "feelzgood." Note that the people living on the border don't want the wall.
Not Many People On The Border Really Want Donald Trump’s Wall
The union made no mention of it in their endorsement announcement, but Border Patrol agents along the Rio Grande Valley largely view it as waste of time and money that wouldn’t actually solve any of their security problems.

A border wall will reduce illegal immigration. There are no dragons for dragon repellent to repel. A border wall would be a far more effective use of taxpayers dollars than a dragon repellent program. Your apples to oranges comparison fails miserably.GrumpyCatFace wrote:Absolutely. This is what I have been trying to get at. You cannot reason with what has become of the left. This is not a principled or rational ideology at this point. It's more like a social cancer stemming from brain rot. Attempting to reason with them is like trying to reason with an insane person.
The ideal strategy is to expose them to the wider public whenever possible so that all of America can see their degenerate and insane behavior. These ones are already lost. Your fight is for the rest of the people.

It will prevent a lot more than one person from getting in. Stop being disingenuous.Kath wrote:"If it prevents just one person from getting here it will all be worth it.."StCapps wrote: Just because a wall isn't going to keep all illegals out doesn't mean you shouldn't build a wall.

How many illegals could be caught and sent home if you spent $15 billion on it, or better still how many jobs could be created?TheReal_ND wrote:Excuse me?Note that the people living on the border don't want the wall.
For legal reasons, we are not threatening to destroy U.S. government property with our glorious medieval siege engine. But if we wanted to, we could. But we won’t. But we could.

I'm not feeling the ROI. Ladders and shovels aren't going to be outlawed in Mexico anytime soon. Human traffickers will still have jobs.StCapps wrote: ]It will prevent a lot more than one person from getting in. Stop being disingenuous.
I'm all for border control. I always have been. I hate our open door policy.
We could end illegal immigration by making it illegal to hire undocumented workers. We most certainly have SSNs in a database somewhere. Just give employers a way to verify the SSN belongs to the person applying for the job.
Easy peasy. I'll bet such a system would cost a bit less than $20 Billion.

The new argument from the opposition is to say that changing our trade deals with Mexico will cause more illegals to come here.

Re: THE ERA OF TRUMP
Why is a wall stupid if it isn't the entire border security plan? You seem to assume that if the wall is built you can't spend money on any other kind of border security. Just because it won't fix the entire problem doesn't mean it won't fix some of the problem. The goal of the wall is not to end human trafficking, it's to reduce it. Why do you think building a wall will be be such a bad ROI? Just because you can get passed a wall with enough resources, effort and luck doesn't mean it has no use.Kath wrote:I'm not feeling the ROI.
